Official comments have arrived from Hiroki Kaji, who plays the rookie surveillance officer Shigeru Shindu, and Ayane Sakura, who plays Mika Shimotsuki, Chief of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division, in the currently airing TV anime "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 3". They spoke about the appeal of the "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" series, their impressions of the story, and their feelings toward the characters.

PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" is an original science fiction animation depicting a police force that is called to account in a near-future society where the psychological state of humans is quantified and managed.

The first season of the TV anime, which depicts the story of a near-future police force, aired from October 2012 to March 2013 on Fuji Television's "Noitamina" and other channels. The second season, which started in October 2014, depicted a story set a year and a half after the final episode of the first season.

And the third TV anime season, "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 3," which began airing on October 24, 2019, tells the story of two new surveillance officers. Shinsuke Shaku and Jiong Mikhail Ignatov become detectives in the Public Security Bureau of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, seeking the truth in an ever-changing world.

Since its start in 2012, the "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" series has been widely developed into a TV anime series, a theater version, and a stage adaptation. What was your impression of the series itself and what do you think is the appeal of this work?
What do you think is the appeal of the series? Whether it is the present or the future, live-action or animation, truth or fiction... I think it is a work that shakes the viewer's heart in every aspect.

-The members of the Public Security Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department Section 1 have been completely renewed. What was your impression when you were introduced to the story of this film?
I felt that changing the standpoints and perspectives made for a different and more interesting story. I was also happy to see the reappearance of familiar characters, and I was deeply moved to see how they have grown and changed over the course of the theater version and other productions.

-What was important to you in playing the role of Shaku Shinsuke?
I think the buddy feeling with Jiong is very special. I feel that there are many things that only he, who is also my childhood friend, shows me, so in the scenes where I talk with Jiong, I try to be aware of the closeness of their hearts and a certain danger that he takes one step further.

-What kind of team do you feel the Public Security Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department is?
When I read the script for the first time, I couldn't help but laugh and say, "This time around, the gang is made up of people with strong personalities. I got the impression that the real work begins when they expose their weaknesses and start to compensate for them.

Please tell us about a scene that you felt was unique to "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass".
I was moved by the scene where the dominator is activated for the first time. At the same time, I thought, "I hope I never have to use this. I was also excited when I was talking with Cunningham and Ginoza. I was very nervous, but I was deeply moved."

-Please tell us what is important to you when playing the role of Shimotsuki.
I think it is important for me to be willing to be hated in order to do what is right. People have their own way of doing things, and even though I don't share their individuality, I don't have the confidence to deny it, so I just run my voice in the direction that Shimotsuki wants to go."

What kind of team do you think the Public Security Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department Section 1 is from your point of view?
The members may change, but the quirkiness of the section 1 team is what you would expect from a team like this! I think that's the way it should be. But personally, I think it would be better if everyone listened to each other a little more.

What did you think when you heard that the drama would be a one-hour program?
What did you think when you heard that it would be an hour-long program? I was excited to think that the time may come when animation can compete with TV dramas. I was thrilled."

<Synopsis
