Flag Time" is a coming-of-age romance manga by popular manga artist SATO. The film is directed and written by the same team that wrote and directed "Asagasato and Kase-san," which was released last year in 2018. and "STEINS;GATE" director Takuya Sato. In addition, "Asagao and Kase-san. Tomoko Sudo, who was the animation director for "Asagao and Kase-san," will be in charge of character design, and rionos, who worked on the music for "Asagao and Kase-san," will be in charge of music. Flag Time" is a story about my clumsy way of life.I can't tell you how many times I felt the emotion of being made into something new and lively by the hands of so many talented people during the production process....I am sure that Haruka and Misuzu are among many people.I hope many people will watch this film.

Takuya Sato / Director/Screenplay
The world is full of possibilities and therefore sometimes complicated. It is not easy to find and keep your "one and only true self" among the endless choices. Not wanting to disappoint anyone, you play the role of the person everyone wants you to be, and as you continue to pretend not to notice the suffocation that is gradually building up, before you know it, you no longer know who you are....
The anime "Flag Time" is a work that captures the moment when two people with such fading feelings touch each other and briefly connect and forgive each other. It may be a fleeting dream, but I hope it will be a moment of certainty for those who watch it.

As a character designer, I have tried to create a slightly different approach to the screen for the anime version from the original work, while keeping in mind the atmosphere of the original work and the personalities of each character.

I tried to express the contrast between the daily life of two high school girls and the extraordinary three minutes when time stands still in music. We hope you enjoy the music as well as the beautiful images of these two girls as they face the tingling emotions that everyone has inside of them, even if they don't show them outwardly.
