Swordsmanship action RPG "Samurai Road Gaiden KATANAKAMI" will be released on February 20, 2020. The purchase bonus is two types of DLC: "Real-life Famous Sword" and "Kazanakami Costume"!

Spike Chunsoft Co. announced that "Samurai Road Gaiden KATANAKAMI," a sword fighting action RPG for PlayStation 4/Nintendo Switch/PC (Steam), will be released on February 20, 2020 (Thursday). Both the packaged and downloadable versions will be priced at 3,980 yen (excluding tax).

Samurai: Gaiden KATANAKAMI" is a spin-off title from the "Samurai: The Way of the Samurai" series, which began in 2002 with the release of the first "Samurai" title for the PS2, and has since been renamed "Samurai: The Way of the Samurai" and numbered titles have been released up to "Samurai: The Way of the Samurai 4" for the PS3.

This is the first title in the series for the PS4, and it continues the sword fighting action that allows players to enjoy deep attacks and defenses. Hack-and-slash dungeon exploration in search of famous swords and auto-generated dungeons that change their structure each time you enter them will give you a fresh experience no matter how many times you play the game.

In the mode for managing a sword smithy, the game features a "war makes money for the blacksmith" system that allows players to create a situation where a large number of swords are needed by instigating war among the three forces (Akadama Party, Kurosei Family, and Shukubamachi) familiar from the "Samurai Road" series. The player collects swords and materials at night in the dungeon connected to Ipponmatsu, and during the day he works as a blacksmith in the mountain pass to earn money and get his daughter back from debt collectors.

Pre-orders for the packaged version of the game are available today, November 21, 2019. Two types of downloadable content, the "5 Famous Swords Set" and "Kazaraijin Set," are available as early purchase bonuses for the packaged and PC (Steam) versions, and as pre-order bonuses for the download version.
