Planetarian: Snow Globe" OVA project crowdfunding is now open!

In commemoration of the 15th anniversary of "planetarian" on November 29, 2004, a 15th anniversary crowdfunding campaign will be held for the visualization of "Snow Globe," one of the external novels in the series.

Planetarian" is a digital novel released in 2004 by Key/Visual Arts, known for "Kanon," "AIR," and "CLANNAD. Set in a near-future city devastated by a world war, "planetarian" is a science fiction story about the interaction between a man who wanders into a planetarium and a girl-like robot, Hoshino Yumemi, who has been waiting for customers there for 30 years.

In 2016, the distribution anime "planetarian - Chiisana Hoshino Yume" and the theater anime "planetarian - Hoshi no Hito" were released. Even after the release of the anime, the work has long been loved by viewers, as it has been made into a fulldome version and shown in planetariums across Japan.

The 15th anniversary crowdfunding campaign is now being held to visualize "Snow Globe," a novel outside the "planetarian" series.

The animation production will be handled by Okuto Noboru, a studio newly established by the staff of David Productions, which produced the distribution and theatrical versions of "planetarian. Hitoshi Tamamura will direct, and Naokatsu Tsuda, the director of the previous work, himself will participate in this work as a supervisor. Many of the staff involved in the previous film will be participating, including Hitomi Takechi for character design and Shogo Yasukawa for the screenplay.

Outline of Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. If the target amount of 30 million yen is reached, an OVA of approximately 20 to 25 minutes will be produced. The crowdfunding will take place on CAMPFIRE, with a variety of courses unique to this OVA.

To commemorate the crowdfunding, a key visual and PV have been unveiled, which looks back at the original work and the anime, and shows the history of "planetarian".

Yumemi Hoshino, a companion robot at the planetarium in the Hanabishi Department Store, has repeatedly ignored her work orders and abandoned her job. This is because of a "promise" Yumemi made 10 years ago. ...... A heartwarming story of a time when the world was still at peace.
