Weekend Plastic Modeling by Taiyuki, Voice Actor! The 10th Our Dream is Absolutely Invincible! I made "MODEROID Bakuruo" which has both proportions and a gimmick to combine!

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Taiyuki, Voice Actor! Commemorative 10th issue has begun!

The 10th MODEROID Bakuruo

From "Absolute Invincible Raijin-O" comes a kit of Bakuruo, following on from Raijin-O! Bakuruo is a so-called No. 2 robot that appeared in the middle of the story, and unlike Raijin-O, it is a mecha that is remotely operated from the classroom of the 5th grade class 3 of Yosheng Academy, which is the command base.

It launches from the school building in its dragon form, Bakuruo Dragon Form, and transforms into the human form, Bakuruo Invincible Form, and then transforms into Raijin-O and Super Mute Form. It then combines with Raijin-O to become God Raijin-O!

Of course, each form can be reproduced in this kit! The proportions of each are very well put together by the drastic replacement of parts.

First of all, the package illustration. As with the Raijin-O, the line drawing is an illustration by Takahiro Yamada, who is in charge of mechanical settings for the "Absolutely Invincible Raijin-O". It is rare to see such a large illustration of Bakuruo alone.

On the back is an explanation of the gimmick of the product.

The runners are quite voluminous, ranging from A to Z! There are also plenty of pre-painted parts, a familiar feature of MODEROID. The head and other corner decorations are very delicately made, so do not handle them roughly even when they are in runner form!

There are also parts inside the small cardboard box, so don't throw it away by accident!

The kit comes with full-color assembly instructions, black-and-white instructions for transforming and combining, and stickers to aid in coloring.

Now, how long does it take to complete?

Yes, it does! So far, my own time required was 2 hours and 46 minutes.

In the photo are the Bakuruo Dragon, the Bakuruo form, and the parts used when it merges into God Raijin-O.

Let's start with the Bakuruo Dragon.

Unlike the toys of the time, some parts, such as the neck, are more form-focused while still being transformable to some extent, and the overall style is similar to the Bakuruo depicted in the anime.

And the large wings are powerful! The wing parts are painted white on blue plastic. The hexagonal yellow surfaces on the shoulders and the gray squares around the elbows are stickers. The color coding is now perfect!

From above, you can see how large the wings are.

From the side. The lines from the neck to the tip of the tail give the figure a more biological impression than toys of the time.

From the back. The hole on the top of the waist is a joint hole to insert the stand to put Raijin-O on the back. The tail will be used as a bakurukanon as it is.

The base of the neck, the top of the head, and the base of the head are all connected with ball joints, allowing for a certain amount of movement.

The lower jaw can be opened to give the figure a roaring expression.

The front legs also serve as arms in robot form, so they are fully movable.

The body is connected to the shaft and can be rotated by the shoulders. The elbows can be bent 90 degrees and the wrists can be moved up and down.

The back legs are also connected to the body by a shaft. Knees and ankles can be moved slightly up and down.

Tail can point downward 90 degrees from the base.

Wings can be moved slightly up and down at the base. The wings can be flapping or resting on the ground.

Let's see how it looks now,

Maria "Bakuruo! Stand by to launch!

gogogogogo・・・・・

Maria "Launch!

Zdoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I instantly recreated the scene of the launch of the Bakuruo Dragon!

Then, let's transform it into Bakuruo immediately!

Maria "Bakuruo! Invincible deformation!

In the anime, Bakuruo transformed by reassembling itself, but in MODEROID, it was disassembled for a moment as you can see.

The back legs can be disassembled by retracting the toes and attaching the parts for Bakuruiuoh.

The legs are formed into the shape shown on the right by attaching parts for Bakuruiuoh.

The transformation of the front legs is also excellent, opening the forearm covers and deploying the robot's wrists,

fold the dragon's wrists to complete the process.

The wings are deformed at the base to adhere to the body.

Dragon's head is set to deform, the sternum is reproduced in a separate part that prioritizes shape. Attach it to the body chest. The head is also a separate part, so it is attached here. This area is the point where I omit the deformation and storage in favor of the shape. Thanks to this, the red parts on the left and right sides of the head are large and protrude powerfully enough.

Be careful not to damage the chest ornament.

As shown in the photo, parts for connecting the stand are attached to the center of the waist.

Connect the legs to the ball joint receptacles on both sides.

Connect both arms and close the wings to complete the figure! This muscular style is typical of Bakuruo.

The overall impression of the robot is angular, but it still has a good range of motion. In fact, this standing figure is already very cool!

Even when viewed from the side, it is so neatly put together that it is hard to believe that it is a mecha that can transform and combine.

On the back, you can see the large wings and the parts that will become the God Raijin-O's chest.

As for the range of motion, let's start with the shoulders and hip joints. The hip joints in particular, despite their shape, can be opened to the left and right in a surprisingly wide range of motion. In fact, this movement also serves as the wrist movement of God Raijin-O.

Bakuruo's elbows are about 90°. Roll movement is possible with the upper arm. The wrists are ball-jointed, but can also be slightly snapped near the base of the wrist.

The hip joints are approximately 90 degrees forward. The base of the hip joint is ball-jointed, so it can be rolled. The ankles are also ball-jointed, so they are well grounded for their design.

The head is also ball-jointed and can rotate 360 degrees, and can even be tilted slightly.

Robot No. 2 is posed like this, as if to say "I'm here to help! type of pose.

The pose is a fighting pose, taking advantage of the movable range of the various parts! The arms and legs are both massive and powerful!

The included stand can be used to recreate the flying pose!

The Bakurui Cannon can be transformed as shown in the photo to complete the figure.

In the toy version, the dragon's neck transforms into a shield; in the MODEROID version, the shield is provided separately from the neck. The gray part of the pentagon in the middle and the yellow part of the hexagon are stickers.

(I already inked them. ....... Sorry!)

Of course, you can hold the bakurukanon and the shield on your wrist!

Akira: "Bakuryu cannon!

You can recreate the image of the movie like this!

Here is a side-by-side view with MODEROID Raijin-O. Raijin-O is taller, but Bakuruo is more voluminous! And the box is bigger, too!

Now then, the long-awaited merging into God Raijin-O!

Hiroshi "Here we go! Jin!

Jin "Roger!
