Animelo Summer Live" (hereafter, "Anisama"), the world's largest anime song event that brings together the top artists in the anime song world, will celebrate its 15th anniversary this summer with "Animelo Summer Live 2019 -STORY-" (hereafter, "Anisama 2019").

To commemorate this anniversary year of Anisama, Akiba Research Institute takes a year-by-year playback of past Anisamas!

Let's hear from anime and anime song writers who participated in the Anisama back then, as well as their memories, and get excited about Anisama 2019, which will be held over the three days of August 30, 31, and September 1, 2019!

So, the third installment is "Animelo Summer Live 2007 Generation-A," which has been further enhanced with more diverse performers and staging!

Animelo Summer Live 2007 Generation-A

The venue will be the Nippon Budokan, the same as last year. This will be the third summer for Anisama, which has become a summer tradition as one of the biggest live concerts in the world of anime songs. Under the theme of "Generation-A," 17 groups of artists and about 12,000 anime song fans gathered. The five-hour event, with a total of 39 songs, was a blissful time when strong bonds were formed through ani-song, regardless of age, occupation, or gender.

First up were Masami Okui and Nana Mizuki. The audience cheered for their special collaboration at the opening of the show, which has become a familiar sight at Anisama! The vocalization by the two divas of the anime song world in "Rinbu-revolution" was overwhelming. Next up was Ms. Okui's solo performance, accompanied by six dancers. I want to dance at Anisama! w-" was a very stylish number that conveyed Okui's desire to dance at Anisama. Speaking of dancing, the theme song "Generation-A," also written and composed by Mr. Okui, had a catchy disco sound. It was a bright number with plenty of playfulness, and the lyrics, which were sung by different artists, were interspersed with phrases that evoked images of the person in question, creating a friendly atmosphere as a new musical theme song following the ballads ("ONENESS") and rock ("OUTRIDE"). It created a friendly atmosphere.

A number of first-time artists also took part in the festival, giving impressive stage performances. First of all, Haruko Momoi exuded her passion for ani-songs during her MC. Her song "WONDER MOMO-i," filled with her love and appreciation for ani-songs, was a killer tune that embodied the phrase "Moe is Rock," and was extremely hot. Minori Chihara, who had participated in Anisama as a guest performer as a member of SOS Dan the previous year and showed off her super dance moves in "Hare Hare Yukai," returned to the big stage with "Junpaku Sanctuary," resuming her long-sought singing career. Her stage performance was both fresh and majestic. Cy-Rim rev. who sang "Koi no Dice☆Teach Me" was also dazzling. Some of the audience was wondering why vocalist miru's glasses had no lenses in them.

Suara overwhelmed the audience with her emotional voice in "Yumesou Uta" and "Kimigatame," which she sang after saying, "I want to sing with all my soul," and motsu, who will be a big hit on the Anisama stage from now on. (m.o.v.e.) also made their first appearance. Momoage contest (!) The performance was so strong that it left a big mark on the audience.

The rock unit "Psychic Lover," a representative of the ani-song world, blasted out "XTC (Ecstasy)," and their vocalist YOFFY introduced the male-female unit "Jyukai" as a "deep, sad, but hot unit. Jyukai" played dramatic sounds with "You were there in the forest" and "Flowers that must not bloom". Even just looking at the first-time performers, one gets a sense of the depth of the anisong genre, and this diversity continues to evolve even in the new era of "2025. In a sense, Anisama has built up its history as a very exciting and interesting showcase on a large scale.

And speaking of Anisama, the guests are also noteworthy. The dance performance group "Panicrew" enlivened the event with their entertaining stage performance as special guests, and Hikomaro Yabenohiko & Kotohime With Boy Dancers, whose unique dance style became a hot topic on "Nico Nico Douga", also created a unique world view. Aya Hirano, who, like Chihara, participated in the previous Anisama with the SOS group, also performed a punk-arranged Anisama-specific version of "Adventure, right? ～She added color to the event with her punk-arranged "Adventure, right?

One scene that had the audience surprised and cheering was when Yoko Takahashi appeared on stage. As a surprise guest, she performed a medley of "Lufran the Soul" and "Gareta na Tenshi no Thesis," which is one of the top most sung songs at karaoke in the Heisei era. With the full presence of a legend, the audience was once again able to experience the power of ani-song.

Of course, the artists who have graced the previous Anisamas should not be overlooked. After singing "Tenohira," Naozumi Takahashi said she couldn't contain her joy, saying, "I want to sing 10 songs or so," and as she put it, "I'm in a strange state of tension. Minami Kuribayashi (now Minami), who has a monopoly on erotic coolness in the ani-song world, overcame her shyness and increased her brightness, as if in inverse proportion to the amount of fabric in her costume, which has been decreasing with each performance. In the "Ushiroyubisasaregumi" collaboration with Ms. Momoi, she also provided a cosplay service as Haruka Suzumiya (from the game "Kimi ga Kouzoku Eien")!

Tomonaga Omi, who was so nervous at her first participation that she started crying in the backstage after the song, showed that she was having a great time. After singing "To the Rock River," she was supposed to throw a stuffed Rascal into the audience, but instead she slammed it down on the aisle in the front row, a scene that will probably be talked about to this day as a rare Anisama moment.

ALI PROJECT, who invited the audience into an aesthetic world with a drag queen, looked divine with Alika Takarano holding a Japanese sword in her hand. Her MC comment, "I think you are all living in your darkest youth," was spiced up with her own unique touch. But there was no doubt that it was the ani-songs that enriched these days, and numbers with a unique atmosphere, such as "Kneel Down and Lick My Feet," were unique in their own way.

Toward the climax of the show, both the stage and the audience were getting hotter and hotter. The last two groups were also outstanding. Break Out," "Victory," and "Skill," a triple combo of "MOTTO! The soulful songs of JAM Project (Hironobu Kageyama, Rika Matsumoto, Masaaki Endo, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui, and Yoshiki Fukuyama) pierced the hearts of the audience, a scene that has become synonymous with Anisama. Flames were lit and everyone was jumping up and down. Anisama is, so to speak, a clash of energy and stamina. The audience could feel that Anisama is the best entertainment with such an exciting atmosphere.

For the third year in a row, Nana Mizuki performed as the last performer. Nana is very busy today, so please look forward to her performance," said Ms. Okui at the opening of the show. The event was held on July 7, "Nana's Day," so the spirits of the audience were high! She sang three solo songs "Justice to Believe", "SECRET AMBITION", and "Heart-shaped chant", which were full of variations.

Finally, Ms. Okui and Mr. Kageyama invited the performers to sing the theme song "Generation-A". This was the end of the main program, but of course there were calls for an encore. I don't want this fun time to end. Such a feeling enveloped the Budokan. After the performers appeared on stage again and sang the theme song "OUTRIDE" (lyrics by Masami Okui, music by Hironobu Kageyama), each artist gave a speech, some of them were so moved that they were crying. The final song was "Generation-A" again. Everyone was smiling, the venue was united, and a loud chorus echoed through the venue.

The following year, Anisama would be held on a larger scale, with two days at Saitama Super Arena. It is, of course, anime and ani-song, but it is also something that foreshadows the beginning, a sense of anticipation and strong will when something is about to begin. I want to sing along with them from now on, and from here on, we will start running toward the future! It was a wonderful day for all such anime and anison lovers, who as "Generation-A," carved out a new history.
