Director Yoshiyuki Tomino and Dorikamu's Masato Nakamura in a Dotsuki Manzai! The movie "G no Reconguista I Go! Core Fighter" stage greeting!

Director Yoshiyuki Tomino's latest film, "G no Reconguista I Go! Core Fighter" will open in theaters on November 29, 2019. On the opening day, a stage greeting was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly, where Director Tomino also took the stage.

Gundam G Reconguista" (26 episodes), which aired on TV in 2014, has been re-edited with new cuts and footage to create the theatrical version "G Reconguista" (5 parts). The first part of the five-part film is "Go! Core Fighter," the first part of which will be screened this time.
Gundam G Recongeista," a five-part theatrical version, has finally begun! Event report from the event with Yoshiyuki Tomino, General Director of the film, on stage!

After the screening of the film, director Yoshiyuki Tomino, Mark Ishii, who plays the main character Beryl Zenam, and producer Naohiro Ogata took the stage. The three were greeted with thunderous applause by a packed house, the excitement of which had not yet abated, and they engaged in a friendly talk in a very relaxed mood.

Prior to the broadcast of the "G-RECO" TV series, an event was held to show the first three episodes in advance at the theater, and Mr. Ishii said he was thinking back to that time in the waiting room.

This film had already been shown at conventions in Paris and New York and at the "Yoshiyuki Tomino Exhibition," which is currently touring Japan, but since some parts of the film were not completed, today was the first day of the film's premiere. Director Tomino was deeply moved by this fact.

When asked how he felt about the completion of the theater version of "G Reco I" four years after its broadcast, Director Tomino replied, "I am grateful that I was given four years to complete it. Thanks to this time, I was able to release this film with the feeling of a new work. Perhaps this comment is an untrue sentiment. However, Director Tomino is also known for his sharp tongue.

I was thinking, "Director Tomino has become much more rounded," when he was asked, "What was your intention in re-recording not only the new cut but also the lines of scenes used in the TV series? He answered, "We couldn't find anyone who could do the same voice as five years ago, so we had no choice but to do it," to the delight of the fans.

When asked how he felt about participating in "G-RECO" again, Ishii said, "I always think of it as a home where I can go back to the basics! he said, expressing his attachment to this work. He gently advised her to "say something nice," and was a little nervous when he saw Director Tomino's eyes fixed on her profile.

On the other hand, when asked if the target audience for this film was children, following on from the TV series, he replied, "There were parts of the TV series that showed my bad habits, so I was conscious that if I did not target children, the film would not be the size of a beautiful movie. By keeping children in mind, I think I was able to avoid making a blurry movie while I was old. In that sense, the key word is "for children."" He expressed his thoughts on the TV series as well as his reflections on the TV series.

During this stage greeting, it was also announced that DREAMS COME TRUE (DORICAM) had been chosen as the theme song artist for "G no Reconguista" the movie version. As a surprise guest, Mr. Masato Nakamura, a member of DREAMS COME TRUE, took the stage.

Director Tomino and Mr. Nakamura first met when Director Tomino appeared as a guest on the radio program "Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan presents Electrical Saturday Night: Masato Nakamura's Night is Garden Ediri" broadcast in 2010. Nine years after their first encounter, they finally decided to work together on an animation project.

Mr. Nakamura himself had never been exposed to Gundam before, but he had entered the industry as a musician because of his admiration for the creators of Director Tomino's generation, who had laid the foundation for Japanese entertainment. He describes how he felt when he met the director for the first time.
Mr. Nakamura confesses that around this summer, Director Tomino stood on his dream pillow with the word "Gundam" in front of him. It was revealed that there was a resonant episode of Newtype, in which he was asked to write the theme song for this year's movie immediately after that.

Regarding the use of Doricum, he said, "There was something that was missing when we were finishing the film version. I asked them because I thought they could bring new energy to the project." Tomino said, "At first, I had no idea that we would ask Dorikam. The reason why he decided to ask Dorikam was because his wife, Aako, advised him, "If that's the case, then Dorikam should be the one to do it.

In creating the theme song for the theatrical version of "G RECO," Director Tomino said, "The poster (of I) is everything," so he and vocalist Miwa Yoshida incorporated all the sounds heard on the poster.

Incidentally, he left the recording process of the theme song to participate in this stage greeting, which was in the midst of production to rave reviews. Normally, the recording of a song by Dr. Doricum is usually completed in three days, but on the day of the event, it was the fourth day of recording. He also said, "It will probably take two more days," indicating that they are working very hard on the recording. Mr. Nakamura says, "All the lyrics and sounds were created for 'G-RECO.

The members of the group seemed to be aware that the news of "Doricum's theme song for 'G-RECO'" was already causing a controversy on the Internet. Director Tomino responded, "God (Tomino) says it's good, so shut up! He roared, "God (Tomino) says it's good, so shut up! The audience was very excited.

An instrumental version of the theme song was used as the BGM for the next preview at the end of "I". When asked what he thought of the song, Director Tomino replied, "I don't know anything about it (because there is no song)! I don't know anything about it! Furthermore, when he first heard the song, his impression was, "I don't like it," to which Mr. Ishii exclaimed, "No way! (Eventually, Director Tomino followed up with, "Make it so that I can like it," he said. (In the end, Director Tomino followed up by saying, "Make it in a way that I can like it.)

(In the end, Director Tomino followed up with, "Make it so that I can like it," he said. Mr. Nakamura said with a wry smile that this was the first time he had been offered a job after 30 years of working with the band, and added, "I think it would have been better if Kami (Iogi Rin) had written the lyrics (laughs). The director asked me about the generation of Dreamcast fans, and when I told him that they were about the same age as Gundam fans, he said, 'I guess that was a mistake. Then I really suggested to him, "Let's expand G RECO from YouTube! I really suggested it (laughs)," he counters.

(Laughs)." The sharp exchange of sharp talk, which was like a manzai (a comedy act), left the speakers chilled and the audience grinning. Director Tomino even gave the audience a warning: "Don't take it all seriously! The audience laughed again.

What was interesting, however, was the closeness between Director Tomino and Mr. Nakamura. Perhaps it is because they are top creators, and they may have a mutual attraction to each other. It was like they had been friends for many years, and it was fun to see them shoulder to shoulder and talking face to face.

This positive feeling of "feeling kind of happy" is what I think is typical of "G-RECO. I am looking forward to seeing how the theme song, created in such an atmosphere, will turn out.

The movie version of "G no Reconguista II Berri Gekishin" is scheduled to be released on February 21, 2020. We will keep our eyes peeled to see what kind of drama the reborn "G Reco" will spin out of the screen.
