The third chapter of "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These star wars" began screening on Friday, November 29, 2019. On the following day, Saturday, November 30, a stage greeting was held at Marunouchi Piccadilly (2-5-1 Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) to celebrate the screening, with Mamoru Miyano playing Reinhardt and Yuichiro Umehara playing Kirchheiss on stage.

The first volume of "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" is the masterpiece of popular author Yoshiki Tanaka, published in 1982 as a full-length science fiction novel consisting of 10 volumes of the main story and 5 volumes of the external story.

Thousands of years in the future, two heroes appear like comets among humans who are engaged in an endless battle. This epic novel, which depicts the history of the galaxy on a grand scale, centering on the battle between these two fated heroes, began its anime adaptation in 1988 with the feature film "My Conquest of the Star Ocean. In September of that year, the first season of the main biography was produced, followed by a series of episodes, eventually totaling 165 episodes in all, including the main and external biographies.

The series has been developed into a variety of media, including comics and stage performances, and in April 2018, Production I.G began airing the anime "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These," and in 2019, "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These These Star Ran" is also being screened in theaters. The first chapter began screening on Friday, September 27, 2019, followed by the second chapter on Friday, October 25, 2019, and the third chapter following on Friday, November 29, 2019.

⇒Screening schedule of the anime film

Mamoru Miyano, who plays Reinhardt, and Yuichiro Umehara, who plays Kirchheiss, took the stage at the stage greeting held on November 30 to commemorate the screening. They spoke freely about their thoughts on "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes," including the response to the first season "KAIKOU" and the second season "SEIRAN," their feelings about the screening of the final chapter, and episodes from the audition and postrecording sessions. The following is a summary of his comments.

Mr. Miyano's comment (original in Japanese)
In Chapter 3, there is an important scene that I played with Ume-chan during the audition, and we both wanted to fulfill the relationship between Reinhardt and Kirchheiss. I am very happy that we were able to achieve this and that everyone is now able to see the film in this way. Watching the completed video again, I am filled with so many emotions that I am at a loss for words. ...... The time I was able to spend with Ume-chan on the play was truly meaningful.
Thank you all so much for your support to this point. I am sure that "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These" will continue to be produced in the future, and I would like to continue to run through the galaxy with great strength. I hope you will all continue to support me in the future.

■Mr. Umehara's comment (original in Japanese)
This story was more of a political drama, or rather, it focused on the internal stories of each country. In the process, various relationships changed little by little. I think the change in Reinhardt was especially significant.
However, I believe that this was something that Reinhardt had to change and overcome in order to continue on his path of supremacy. This third chapter will be the last of "Seiran", but the story of "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes" has only just begun. We, the cast and staff, are very eager to run through the story to the end. We can only do this with the help of all of you who support us, so please continue to support "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These".

Story
In the year 796 of the stardate (487 of the imperial calendar), the expeditionary force of the Alliance of Free Planets, which mobilized 30 million generals, engaged General Reinhardt, now deputy commander-in-chief of the Galactic Imperial Fleet, and his commanding fleet in the imperial territory, and suffered heavy damage, losing three out of eight fleets. However, Commander-in-Chief Lobos, who received the wish of the Supreme Council of the Alliance of Free Planets, ordered to gather the remaining forces and continue the battle. Reinhardt, who was seeking a complete victory, also advanced to the Amuritsa star area, the rallying point for the Free Planet Alliance forces, opening the battle that would later be known as the "Battle of Amuritsa.
The year after the Battle of Amritsa, Emperor Friedrich IV of the Galactic Empire died suddenly without naming a successor, and a power struggle among the aristocratic factions began. Meanwhile, a large-scale military coup d'etat broke out within the Alliance of Free Planets. The two uprisings that shake both the Empire and the Alliance will also determine the fate of Reinhardt and Jan. ......
