The theatrical version of "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection" Blu-ray & DVD will be released on Lelouch's birthday, December 5!

Namco Bandai Arts Inc. announced that it will release the Blu-ray and DVD of the completely new movie "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection" in February 2019 on December 5, the same day as the birthday of the film's main character, Lelouch. The price is 6,800 yen for the standard Blu-ray version and 5,800 yen for the standard DVD version (both excluding tax).

Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion" is a TV animation series that aired its first season in 2006 and its second season "R2" in 2008. Set in Japan, which has become a territory of the Britannian Empire, the work depicts Lelouch, a Britannian who has acquired the power of absolute compliance, putting on a mask named Zero and leading a resistance force against Britannia: The clever storyline and beautiful characters (original character design by CLAMP and character design by Takahiro Kimura) made it popular among both men and women.

At the "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion: Kiseki's Anniversary" event held on November 27, 2016 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the start of the series, the production of a theatrical trilogy of films, reconstructed from all 50 episodes of the TV series with new parts and all newly dubbed, was announced.October 2017. Part 1 "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Kodo" is released in theaters from October. Part 2, "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion II: The Rebellion" will be released in February 2018. And "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion III: The Emperor's Road" was released on Saturday, May 26, and a three-part theatrical compilation Blu-ray&DVD is now on sale. The sequel and completely new movie "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection," directed by Goro Taniguchi, written by Ichirou Okochi, and character designed by CLAMP's Code Geass team, was released on Saturday, February 9, 2019.

The Blu-ray & DVD of that movie "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection" will be released on December 5, 2019. In addition to the standard edition, a special limited edition and an A-on STORE limited edition are lined up.

■Special Limited Edition Features
The bonus disc included in the special limited edition contains 220 minutes of rare footage, including visual commentary by Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch), Takahiro Sakurai (Suzaku), and director Goro Taniguchi, a new picture drama "Re;f 103.00 Kakera of the Deep Sea," and stage greeting footage. The film also includes a special bonus package.

Also included are a special booklet (52 pages), 8 postcards, and a collection of CLAMP's original illustrations (12 pages). In addition, DTS Headphone:X (main audio), which can reproduce a 5.1ch sound field using headphones, has been adopted as an audio bonus.

The bonus disc of the Blu-ray special limited edition is Blu-ray, and the bonus disc of the DVD special limited edition is DVD.

■A-on STORE Limited Edition (first time limited production) Features
In addition, "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection A-on STORE Limited Edition" (Blu-ray, 10,300 yen/tax-excluded) will be released on December 5 as a limited product on the official Namco Bandai Arts online store "A-on STORE".

The special disc (Blu-ray), a bonus only available with this product, includes the new picture drama "Re;f 1.05 Hammam of Secret Talks" and a video storyboard featuring storyboards, layouts, original drawings, etc. by director Taniguchi, which is being shown for the first time in the Code Geass series.

Except for the special disc, the content is the same as that of the Blu-ray special limited edition.
