TV animation "Don't Mess with the Video Lab! ×xAdobe and Wacom's collaborative contest starts today, December 3!

Wacom, Inc. announces that the TV animation "Don't Mess with the Video Lab!" which will begin airing on January 5, 2020 and Adobe Systems Incorporated, which will begin airing on January 5, 2020, starting today, December 3, 2019.

The "Don't Mess with the Video Lab!" is a monthly comic book series published in Shogakukan's "Monthly! Spirits", an anime work based on the manga series by Sumihito Odo, which is currently serialized in Shogakukan's "Monthly! It will be directed by Masaaki Yuasa, known for his unique style in works such as "DEVILMAN crybaby" and "Kimi to, Nami no Norareta", and will be broadcast on NHK General TV from January 2020. The character design is by Naoyuki Asano of "Osomatsu-san" fame, and the animation is produced by Science SARU, which has worked on many of Yuasa's works.

In conjunction with the release of the TV animation "Don't Mess with the Visual Image Laboratory! a special collaboration contest between the film and Adobe Systems Incorporated started today, December 3, 2019. The contest is looking for "works with an unstoppable passion for making things," like those created by the main characters in the film.

The work being sought is an animation or illustration that depicts the "strongest world" that "I wish there was such a world," with one of the main characters as a motif. The contest will be judged by the original author of the work, Mr. Sumihito Odo, and other members of the TV anime series production team.

The winners will have their illustrations featured in the ending of the TV anime "Don't Mess with the Image Lab! and will receive prizes including a Wacom Cintiq 16 LCD pen tablet and a 12-month Adobe Creative Cloud Complete Plan.

In addition, starting December 9, 2019 (scheduled), at Wacom brand stores (location: Shinjuku Marui Annex 3F) and Wacom corners in some electronics retailers, "Don't mess with the Video Lab! and will run for a limited time only. <Synopsis
Midori Asakusa, a first-year high school student, loves animation so much that she insists that "the setting is the life" of animation. She draws various ideas in her sketchbook, but is unable to take the first step toward animation production because she says she cannot act alone. Sayaka Kanamori, who has a producer's temperament, was the first to notice Asakusa's talent. Furthermore, it turns out that her classmate Mizusaki Tsubame, a charismatic reader model, is actually an aspiring animator, and the three of them decide to establish a visual image laboratory to express the "strongest world" in their brains. ......
