SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE (From Software) won the Gold Prize award at the PlayStation Awards 2019 ( PS Awards 2019 ) on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 . In response, a commemorative PS4 theme is now available on the PS Store.

SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE" (SEKIRO) is an action game set in the Warring States period. The game depicts a ninja fighting to regain his stolen master. The game gained popularity for its intense action, such as sword fights based on sword strikes and "bullets" that parry enemy attacks, and "ninja kills," in which the player uses sword fights to increase his "torso gauge" to a certain level and inflicts a fatal wound when his opponent is out of stance.

The Gold Prize award, which this title received, is one of the awards established at the PS Awards 2019, a ceremony to recognize hit titles released on PlayStation in 2019. The award is given to titles with cumulative production shipments and distribution exceeding 500,000 in the Asian region, including Japan. Incidentally, the cumulative worldwide shipments of SEKIRO have reached 3.8 million units as of June 2019.
