Space Invaders Invincible Collection" for Switch Announces Two More Titles to be Included!

TAITO Corporation announced two new titles for "Space Invaders Invincible Collection," a port of the iconic "Space Invaders" series for Nintendo Switch scheduled for release on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

Space Invaders" is a shooting game developed by Taito as an arcade game in 1978. The game's innovative "two-sided attack" gameplay attracted many players and triggered the "Invader Boom". Since then, many titles in the series have been released in arcades and home video games, as well as ported to various hardware platforms, and 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the series.

The two additional titles announced this time are "Super Space Invaders '91," an overseas version of "Majestic Twelve," and "Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE," which allows four-player simultaneous cooperative play.

Super Space Invaders '91

Super Space Invaders '91" is an overseas version of the "Space Invaders" series "Majestic Twelve" that was popular in Europe and North America. In the Japanese version, the stages branch off as the game progresses, but in "Super Space Invaders '91," the stages unfold in a straight path.

Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE

Space Invaders GIGAMAX 4 SE" is the world's first Space Invaders game that allows multiple players to play simultaneously. The game can be played by up to four players, who can use a variety of formations to shoot down the invading invaders and clear the game as fast as possible. New stages and gimmicks have been added for this title, and the BGM has been newly written by the Taito sound team "ZUNTATA.
