Remake of the original "Star Ocean" ported to PS4 and Switch! Star Ocean 1 -First Departure R-" is available today!

Star Ocean 1 -First Departure R- (Square Enix) is available today, December 5, 2019, for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Exclusively available for download, the game is priced at 3,200 yen (excluding tax) for the standard edition and 5,000 yen (excluding tax) for the digital deluxe edition.

Star Ocean" was released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1996, and its story combining science fiction and fantasy was well received. Star Ocean" was remade for the PSP in 2007 as "Star Ocean 1 First Departure" (FD). Star Ocean 1 - First Departure R-" ("FDR") is a further reworked and HD version of this title. New voices and illustrations have been added along with the port. The voices and illustrations can be switched between the "FDR" and "FD" versions at any time.


A Web commercial was also released at the same time as the distribution. The beautiful new graphics and new features of the game can be seen in the commercial.
