The final chapter of "Girls und Panzer" (Girls und Panzer: The Final Chapter, Episode 2), the first day of the show, is finally here!

The second episode of the latest OVA series "Girls und Panzer," "The Final Chapter," began showing in theaters today, June 15, 2019 (Saturday).

Girls und Panzer" is a popular animation series that began airing in October 2012 with 12 episodes, followed by an OVA in July 2014, and a "movie version" in November 2015. The unexpectedness of a high school girl riding a tank to battle and the heartwarming drama drew attention and excitement, and the movie version was a blockbuster hit, grossing more than 2.5 billion yen at the box office. The movie version became a huge hit, grossing over 2.5 billion yen at the box office. The town of Oarai in Ibaraki Prefecture, where the anime takes place, continues to attract a steady stream of fans who visit the town. The first episode of the latest OVA series "The Final Chapter" was screened in theaters in December 2017, and its box-office revenue exceeded 600 million yen.

Episode 2, the sequel to the first episode of the latest OVA series "The Final Chapter," began theatrical screenings today, June 15, 2019 (Saturday).

To commemorate the start of the screening, the first day of the "Girls und Panzer: The Final Chapter, Episode 2" stage greeting was held at Shinjuku Wald 9.

The cast of Oarai Jogakuen Ankou Team, including Mai Fuchigami as Miho Nishizumi, Ai Chino as Saori Takebe, Mami Ozaki as Hana Isuzu, Ikumi Nakagami as Yukari Akiyama, and Yuka Iguchi as Asako Reizei, gathered for the event, with Shiori Izawa as Midoriko Sono, Moyoko Goto and Kimi Kanaharu serving as the host. The stage greeting was a glamorous one, befitting the first day of the event. Here is the official report.

First, Ms. Shiori Izawa, the hostess, appeared on stage. Good morning, everyone. Are you excited? and then today's guest appeared on stage.

＜What are your impressions of the second episode and what is your favorite scene...? ＞Fuchigami: I know everything about it.

Fuchigami: I knew all the contents of the episode, but there were scenes that touched me in places, so I was able to watch the episode with a fresh feeling as if I were watching a new movie. My favorite scene, and there are many, is the scene where they eat the cake. The moment when the cream of the cake goes in with the canele fork, it looked so delicious.

Nakagami: I like the part when Marie-san comes out with the "kurikuri" (a kind of "kurikuri" in Japanese).

Chino: I was moved by the scene where Ando and Oshida protect Marie and the flagship car, even though they are enemies.

Ozaki: I was really scared of BC (Jiyu Gakuen). I was really scared of BC (Jiyu Gakuen), because they were so unorganized. I was so scared of BC (Jiyu Gakuen) that I was like, "Do you really want to do it so tidily? I was so scared that I never want to fight again.

Iguchi: The people from BC (Jiyu Gakuen) came in as new characters, and their singing is really impressive. They not only ask us to "read this atmosphere (of "Galpan")," but they also ask us to "sing" and they just go along with it. Last time, when we were recording a song, the director came into the studio in person and said, "I'll sing with you! I'll sing with you!" (laughs).　The director and staff come up with ideas for "Galpan" that the cast alone could not come up with, and this gives us new stimulation in the postrecording studio as well. When I saw the finished product, it was even more exciting and thrilling, and I thought it was great.

＜What do you want people to see in the film? What are the points that you want people to see?

Iguchi: Well, I don't know if there is one (laughs). (Izawa pointed out, "You saved Sodoko.") Yes, I did! (Izawa asked, "You saved Sodoko, didn't you?") Yes! I thought, "Oh yes, this is it!

Nakagami：I'm glad that Yukari was able to make up for her mistake in the second chapter. I'm glad she wasn't too worried about it. In the past, if Yukari had made one mistake, I think she would have been depressed and worried a lot. But now, she is able to communicate with those around her and trust everyone, and I think that is why she was able to make a variety of strategies this time. In that sense, I was happy overall.

Ozaki: This time, too, there were mostly sound effects and I didn't have much to say (laughs). I was so defenseless that I dozed off and was told, "Your mouth is open, young lady," so I started to see a lot of loose parts.

Chino: For Saori, it is the scene with Momo-chan. When we went to her house, we were able to see the environment of her house, which none of us had expected, and I think I came to like Momo-chan-senpai more, both as Saori and myself.

Fuchigami: Not to make a scary connection with BC (Jiyu Gakuen), but Miho also had a cool but a little scary scene this time, and I was really horrified when she said "scatter" with almost no expression on her face. I hope to see more cool scenes like that from Miho in the future.

Iguchi: It's early in the morning and it's the rainy season, so thank you very much for coming in spite of the bad weather. We have finally reached the last chapter. There are still many developments awaiting us, and we are not sure what will happen next. We hope that you will look forward to the third episode and visit the theater not just once, but many times.

Nakagami: Thank you for showing me your sparkling "I had fun" face today. I watched the previews once and the white box once, and my younger son, who was watching with me and is not even 2 years old, learned to salute!
