Tokyo Toy Show 2019 Report Part 3! Introducing Sega and other booths full of highlights!

Tokyo Toy Show 2019, the largest toy exhibition in Japan, is being held from June 13-16, 2019.

The 13th and 14th are business fair days. This year, the show is open to the public on June 15 and 16.
The first day, the 13th, was extremely crowded with people from the toy industry, buyers, and press from Japan and abroad.

Akiba Research Institute participated in the first day of the trade fair. We were able to get a first-hand look at some of the latest items of interest. Let's take a look at each manufacturer.

SEGA

Sega is known for its kids' toys, but the highlight of this year's show is the Mega Drive Mini!
You can actually play with this machine, which contains 40 games from the famous hardware of the past. During the trade fair, only members of the media were allowed to play the machine, but visitors can play it on the open day, so don't worry.

Hasbro

American toy manufacturer Hasbro displayed collaborative items between "Nerf," a gun-shaped toy that fires bullets made of soft material, and the popular game "Fortnite.

Takara Tomy Arts, Inc.

Following the "The Showa" series, the "The Heisei" series has started! The first series is "Print Sticker of Youth!

Kyosho is known for its RC cars. Akiba Research Institute's focus is on drones with "Super Mario" characters. It floats and flies well! It may be just right as an entry-level model.





Sutan Hobby

This company comes from China. The company imports and sells hobbies from world-class manufacturers.
The centerpiece is the "Yongyuan Series" from Chinese hobby manufacturer JOYTOY. The kits, with their military taste in full bloom, are sure to be a hit with Japanese hobby enthusiasts.







SBABAM

Italian toy manufacturer SBABAM exhibited LETRABOTS, which transforms letters into robots.





TOYOTA

Toyota exhibited "CAMATTE CONNECTION," a booth where children can drive a car. Any child over 130 cm in height can drive a car, so why not give it a test drive? Why not give it a try? You might just wake up to the fun of driving a car!
