Hiroko Moriguchi to release Gundam music cover album on August 7! The jacket illustration, in which Moriguchi has entered the world of Gundam, is also revealed!

Hiroko Moriguchi, who has sung many hit songs from the Gundam series, will release a Gundam song cover album "Gundam Song Covers" with splendid guest musicians on August 7, 2019 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of "Mobile Suit Gundam.

Hiroko Moriguchi, who has sung many hit songs from the Gundam series, including "Ai wo Hoshi e Ai wo Komete" (theme song of "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam") and "ETERNAL WIND ~Hohoemi wa Hikaru Kaze no Naka~" (theme song of "Mobile Suit Gundam F91"), will be performing the songs on the occasion of "40th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam" with a lineup of gorgeous guest musicians. Hiroko Moriguchi, who has sung many hit songs from the Gundam series, including "WIND ~Hoho~ and "Hikaru Hikaru Kaze no Naka~", will release a Gundam song cover album "Gundam Song Covers" on August 7, 2019, featuring a splendid lineup of guests.

This album is based on a program that aired on NHK in 2018, "Announcement! Gundam Songs Ranking" in the "All Gundam Grand Vote" program on NHK in 2018, Moriguchi's debut song "Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete" was selected first and "ETERNAL WIND ~Hohoemi wa Hikaru Kaze no Naka~" third out of 361 Gundam songs, which led to the project of the album, The album will include all of the very "Top 10 Gundam Songs Chosen by the People" selected by the program's ranking, with Mr. Moriguchi covering and self-covering all of the songs.

Many splendid artists participated in the arrangement and recording of the album.
Jazz violinist Naoko Terai arranged and recorded "Ai wo Hoshi e Ai wo Komete" (Love to the Water Star), acoustic guitarist Kotaro Oshio arranged "Ai Senshi", accordionist Saburo Tanooka arranged "Shine in the Storm", pianist Satoshi Shiotani arranged "Freesia", and keyboardist Tetsu Shioya arranged "JUST COMMUNICATION"" features keyboardist Hidefumi Ino, and "RE:I AM" features the instrumental unit TSUKEMEN.
In the other songs, listeners can enjoy covers and self-covers with new arrangements that embody Moriguchi's passion for Gundam.

In addition, as a bonus track, "Beyond the Universe," the theme song for "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin Ⅳ: Eve of Destiny," released in 2016 and sung by Mr. Moriguchi, will be included in its original soundtrack.

The CD jacket was newly drawn by illustrator Tsukasa Kotobuki, and features an original illustration of the Z Gundam and Hiroko Moriguchi in her normal suit (space suit) against a space background.

The CD will be released in two forms: <Normal Edition> and a luxurious LP size double jacket version <Limited Quantity Production Edition>. The latter will not be sold at CD stores, but will be available for pre-order on a special page in the online store "KING e-SHOP" from June 13 (Thu) at 22:00 to June 30 (Sun) at 23:59.

This gorgeous album, which covers a wide range of songs from the early to recent years, can be called an anniversary edition of "Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary".
