  • Series " Durarara! series

Before I give my impressions of each of the top 10, I would first like to point out the large number of votes received (29746). As one would expect from Mr. Sawashiro, who has a long history in the art world, the age range of the voters must have been quite diverse. These figures clearly show that Ms. Sawashiro is supported by such a wide range of people.

Among the wide range of characters that Sawashiro has worked on, the winner was the main character Shinon from " Sword Art Online II " (2014). In a sense, the result may seem surprising, but it was a relatively recent work in Sawashiro's long career, and the popularity of the original work and anime " SAO " may also be a factor in his name recognition and popularity.

The next runner-up was Suruga Kanbaru from the " Monogatari" series (2009). The role of the athletic high school girl, junior to Araragi Koyomi, the main character of the "Monogatari" series, is popular with both men and women, but in reality, she has a two-faced character who is a big fan of "fudo-joshi," a term that refers to a girl who is obsessed with all things fugly. Her performance was a true testament to Sawashiro's unique ability to deliver her lines in an energetic, boyish voice and to deliver them in an unabashedly funny manner.

In third place was Bishamon from " Noragami " (2014). In fact, like the second-place finisher, " Monogatari Series " shares the same main character, Hiroshi Kamiya, but Bishamon here is an enemy of the main character, Yato. Her power is mighty, and the role was truly symbolic of the "strong woman" that Ms. Sawashiro is known for.

Also in fourth place was Hanako Koyanagi from " Otaku ni Koi wa Hanaku ni " (2018). This is a more recent work, but she is still a senior female character with an older sisterly personality. As one would expect, Ms. Sawashiro is well suited for this kind of cool-beauty (and slightly perverted) older sister character!

Finally, Fujiko Mine from the "Lupin the Third" series (2011-) appears in 5th place! Fujiko Mine is a sexy bad girl character representing the world of Japanese manga and anime. In fact, since the first "Lupin the Third" (1971), there have actually been four voice actors who have played Fujiko Mine. The first was Yukiko Nikaido, the second was Eeiko Masuyama, and the third was Maomi Koyama, all of whom are among the most talented voice actors of their era. Then, the baton passed to Ms. Miyuki Sawashiro from the 2011 special TV anime "Lupin III: Blood Mark ~Eternal Mermaid~". At that time, the voices of Ishikawa Goemon and Inspector Zenigata were also changed to Daisuke Namikawa and Koichi Yamadera, respectively, which has led to the current "Lupin III" movie series.

The voice actor who can play Fujiko Mine must be one of the most talented voice actors of his generation, and Mr. Sawashiro has done so well that it is impossible to imagine "Lupin III" without his Fujiko. She is so well suited to the role that it is impossible to imagine "Lupin the Third" without her portrayal of Fujiko.

Looking at the list of characters after No. 6, the general image of the characters played by Ms. Sawashiro is that of boyish, cool and beautiful female characters, but she is also well suited to the roles of Izuna Hatsuse of " No Game, No Life " ( No. 9) and Nanami Haru of " Uta no Prince Sama! Legendary Star " and many other cute characters. Although it may not be her image, Sawashiro's voice for such cute characters is also attractive. The fact that she was able to make it into the top 10 proves that many fans are attracted to the gap between Sawashiro's voice and her artistic style.

The characters ranked below 11 are also very diverse, so we hope that both Sawashiro's fans and those who are not fans of hers will be able to confirm the wide range of skills of the legendary voice actress of our time, Miyuki Sawashiro.
