Final Fantasy X" will be performed as a Kabuki play. In addition to the spotlight images and performers, comments from "FF X" producer Yoshinori Kitase were also announced.

Released in 2001 as the 10th installment of the FF series, "Final Fantasy X" is one of the most popular titles in the series, with over 20.8 million units shipped and DL sales worldwide. This sad story of a boy and a girl who face a great threat, "Sin," is depicted with character voices adopted for the first time in the series and facial animations whose facial expressions change according to the situation.

The "New Kabuki Final Fantasy X" of "Final Fantasy X" will be performed at IHI Stage Around Tokyo (Toyosu) in the spring of 2023. The announcement was made on July 19, the same day the production was released.

The production will be planned and directed by Kikunosuke Onoe. Kikunosuke Onoe has created new Kabuki plays such as "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" in the past. Kikunosuke has been eagerly awaiting a Kabuki adaptation to take his work to the next level. The world of the immortal video game "Final Fantasy X" will be performed for the first time in Asia at the world's first immersive entertainment theater.

A 360-degree stage journey to Zanarkand - performed by a star-studded cast including Kikunosuke Onoe!

At IHI Stage Around Tokyo, the stage is spread out over 360 degrees around the perimeter, with a huge circular audience seating area at the center of the stage. The audience seats themselves, mounted on giant trays, rotate and merge with the stage, images, and music in a revolutionary way.

The audience will be immersed in the overwhelming visual world of "FINAL FANTASY X," and the journey to Zanarkand, the world of "FINAL FANTASY X," will be sublimated onto the stage with the realism and power of IHI Stage Around Tokyo, while maintaining the worldview intact.

The performers for the memorable first performance have also been determined. Kikunosuke Onoe, who is active not only on the Kabuki stage but also in dramas such as "Shitamachi Rocket," Shido Nakamura, who in recent years has taken on the challenge of new forms of kabuki such as "Cho-Kabuki," a virtual x Kabuki, Matsuya Onoe, a promising young actor with multiple roles in dramas, musicals, variety shows, and more, and NHK The cast includes Yajuro Bando, who is currently playing the role of Hojo Tokimasa in the NHK historical drama "Kamakura-dono no 13inin.

The script is by Hiroyuki Yatsu, who has written many hit dramas ranging from heartwarming humanistic dramas to profound human dramas, including the TV series "Ochoyan" (NHK) and "Mitazono, the Housekeeper" (TV Asahi). The production was co-directed by Kahori Kanaya, who has successfully staged the "Dragon Quest Live Spectacle Tour" and B'z's Dome Tour, and is known in the industry for her dynamic yet sensitive and captivating direction.

This will be our first attempt to stage a Kabuki performance at IHI Stage Around Tokyo, and we hope to cherish the shocking and moving feelings we had when we played the game when it was first released, and invite both those who love the game and those who have never seen Kabuki to see the performance. The images projected on the huge 8-meter-high screen will color the stage, and we believe that you will enjoy an immersive experience as if you were in the world of "Final Fantasy"! When I first heard about this project, I was filled with skepticism, but I remember how moved I was when Mr. Kikunosuke Onoe directly conveyed his passionate thoughts to me. <Story
Spira is a world trapped in a death spiral, where people live in fear of a great threat, Sin. The people seek solace in the Ebon Temple, and the summoners set out on a journey to bring peace to Spira, believing in the temple's teaching that the ultimate summoning, which can be activated in exchange for one's life, is the only way to defeat Sin.
Even with the ultimate summoning, "Shin" does not die completely, but is resurrected after a certain period of time. Even so, the time when "Shin" does not appear - the Nagi-Setsu - provides a fleeting respite for the people.

Yuna, a young girl from the village of Beside, was one of the summoners who decided to bring about the Nagisetsu. Tida, a young boy, wanders from the other world of Zanarkand to Spira and meets Yuna, and although he is at a loss in this strange world, he joins Yuna as a "guard" to protect the summoners.

The destruction of the defeat squad to confront "Sin," the revelation of "Sin's" true identity, and the betrayal of the temple...shocking events repeatedly strike Teeda and his friends during their journey, but they overcome them and try to tie together their own story.
