New character information and images have been released from the TV anime "Blue Rock," which will begin airing in October 2022 on 24 TV Asahi networks nationwide.

Based on a popular soccer manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (original story by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, manga by Yusuke Nomura), it won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the Juvenile Division. The manga depicts high school students fighting for survival in the "Blue Rock" (Blue Prison) project launched by the Japan Football Union.

The characters introduced this time are "Seishiro Nagi" and "Reo Mikage". Nobunaga Shimazaki plays Nagi, who has only been playing soccer for six months but boasts an extraordinary soccer sense, and Yuma Uchida plays Reio, a sergeant at a large company who started playing soccer with Nagi with the goal of winning the World Cup.

At first, he seems to be just passing time with soccer, but he is a "striker" as well. I want to do my best so that I don't get left behind by the "self" of the genius who usually appears cool and neutral.

A dexterous player who can handle any kind of play, Reio Mikage is a key member of Team V's offensive and defensive teams. He is a sergeant of Mikage Corporation, a large corporation, and was bored with his life without any inconvenience. However, when he happened to see the World Cup soccer final match, he invited Nagi to start playing soccer with the goal of winning the World Cup himself.
For Reio, Nagi is his "treasure" and an indispensable soccer partner.

It is a soccer manga, but from the very beginning, it breaks the conventional wisdom of soccer, and I was very interested in the new approach of creating the world's best striker. It is a very rebellious work that makes me feel that I have to be more aggressive when I read it.

Q2: What is your impression of the character you play and how do you feel about the role?
Reio is a character who has led a life without any inconvenience because he is a sergeant, and because of that, he is confident in himself, but I felt that he is longing for something that he lacks, such as satisfaction. I thought that this unfulfilled feeling led him to his dream of winning the World Cup. So I hope I can express and play the role of Reio's unfulfilled desires and thirst for dreams.
