The only "mass-production type of the main character mecha" in 80's robot anime is Caliber (Gunze Sangyo) from "Specialized Machine Trooper Dorvac"! [80's B-Grade Anime Plastic Model Natural History #24
For some reason, GUNZE SANGYO's "Specialized Kihei Dorvac" (1983) series has appeared several times in this series.
PAC-48 Guardian.
Bonaparte Tarkas.
They are 1/24 and 1/100 respectively, and this time the "VV-54A Caliber" is in 1/72 scale. The Guardian is a powered armor worn by humans, which is fine, but the Bonaparte Tarkas and Caliber are robots in the same "variable machine" category, so I wish the scales were unified... I mean, "Why didn't you have to unify them as a manufacturer? I think it would have been better to unify them... or rather, "Why didn't you unify them as manufacturers?
As mentioned in a previous article, this Caliber is a mass-production type of Mugen Caliber, the main character robot. It is like the Jim in the Mobile Suit Gundam series.
It looks like the existing kit has not only been given a military look, but also has additional parts for armaments. I wonder if the "jumping booster" refers to the backpack on her back. Let's take a look at the runners.
The parts for the arms and legs seem to be the same as the original Mugen Calibur kit. The mold is still sharp and beautiful, and there are some surprisingly thin parts mixed in. I think it is a characteristic of this series that there are surprisingly thin parts mixed in.
▲ The backpack parts are carved on the same runner as the torso, which is also common with the Mugen Caliber. However, a firearm integrated with the wrist is molded on a long and narrow runner, and it seems that new parts are gathered on this runner
My uncle, who loves variation kits with additional runners, when he finds this kind of elongated runner, he says, "Sh, new parts! and his eyes widen and his nose starts to bleed. However, this long and narrow runner even has a molded head. ...... means that the head of the mass-produced Caliber is different from that of the original Mugen Caliber? I didn't know that.
Oops, don't forget. If you buy a "Dorvac" series model, you must check out the fancy orange poly cap.
Why would they make the poly cap (polybush in the manual) such a flashy color? When I opened it in the store, I thought, "Hola! This kit comes with a poly cap! when you open it in the store? In 1983, other companies' products, both Bandai's "Gundam" MSV series and Takara's "Armored Trooper Votoms" series, did not include poly caps in their low-priced kits. So maybe Gunze Sangyo wanted to brag about the fact that our kits are exceptional.
Don't linger over poly caps forever, let's build it! Mass-produced calibers in a subdued, matcha-like molded color! With an orange polycap in between!
