Anisama 15th year anniversary project! Anisama Playback! The 6th "Animelo Summer Live 2010 -evolution-" New faces who foreshadow the next 10 years are appearing one after another!

Animelo Summer Live" (hereafter, "Anisama"), the world's largest anime song event that brings together the top artists in the anime song world, will celebrate its 15th anniversary this summer with "Animelo Summer Live 2019 -STORY-" (hereafter, "Anisama 2019").

To commemorate this anniversary year of Anisama, Akiba Research Institute has started a series of articles looking back on the past Anisamas!

Let's get excited about "Anisama 2019," which will be held on August 30, 31, and September 1, 2019, by having writers who love anime songs talk about their memories and videos while looking back on the event!

In this sixth installment, we review "Animelo Summer Live 2010 -evolution-," an event that has grown significantly with an increasingly diverse lineup. Continuing from the previous installment, let's take a look back at the event with writer Kiri Nakazato, who was onsite to cover the event at the time.

Animelo Summer Live 2010 -evolution

Date: August 28 and 29, 2010

In the year 2010, the year of the number that marks the end of the year, Anisama set the theme of "evolution" (=evolution). This year's Anisama opened with a dynamic performance by dancers wearing white masks. What shocked me personally was that JAM Project, which appeared later with "Rescue Fire," appeared to be a six-member group.

JAM Project was formed by Ichiro Mizuki and became a six-member group in March 2003, consisting of Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endo, Yoshiki Fukuyama, Rika Matsumoto, Hiroshi Kitadani, and Masami Okui. Since Ms. Matsumoto announced in April 2008 that she was suspending her activities as JAM Project, the five members have been the core of the group's activities. This is a personal story, but my first anime-related interview was at an event related to "VOYAGER," the opening theme for "PANDERZETTE THE ROBONIMATION" in 2004. I was obviously stiff in front of the legends, but I was laughing and saying to myself, "Is it okay if the camera flash doesn't light up? I remember thinking to myself, "What nice people they are...! I remember thinking to myself, "What nice people they are! That is why I had a strong attachment to the six members of JAM Project.

If you rub your eyes carefully, you will see that the sixth member was actually Minami Kuribayashi (now Minami), and the stage was a collaboration of five plus one. There was a precedent of JAM Project+1 singing at Anisama after Matsumoto's hiatus in 2008 when Aki Misato participated, but the song she sang at that time was "Memories are Ookusenman! (Memories are Ookusenman!). The song had a strong video site color, and I felt the "festival" atmosphere of Anisama even more strongly. That is why I was really surprised when I saw the "six" performers in the gory JAM song "Rescue Fire. However, when I thought about JAM Project singing at the opening of Anisama in the form of collaboration, it seemed very natural that Mr. Kuribayashi, who has created the Anisama world together since the first Anisama, would be there.

The time stamp of 2010 is only a number. Even so, I cannot help but feel something special about the 2010 Anisama. This was the year that fripSide, Sphere, and Milky Holmes took the Anisama stage for the first time.

After the shocking opening of "Rescue Fire" by JAM Project and Minami Kuribayashi, fripSide made their first appearance on stage, which was a bold move. The refrain of "only my railgun" is sung with a long pause to take a pause from the burning tension and build up the anticipation of the song that everyone has been waiting for. The song stopped once during the song and the "Maggie Ichimon Slot" began, but it is only fripSide that has the tolerance to arrange the song so close to the performance (Toshihiro Maggie, Shinji Maggie, and Shiro Maggie appeared on stage). Dancers dressed in "Toaru Kagaku no Railgun" cosplay backed up Aino Nanjo, who was a bit nervous for her first participation. Among these dancers was Aino Nanjo, who later became a member of the singing unit "STAR" of the "Aikatsu! and is now a member of "Mia REGINA," and Misuzu Furukawa of "Denpa-gumi.inc" were also among the dancers, which I think makes the warp of the Anisama story more flexible.

Sphere, full of freshness and sparkle in their first Anisama appearance, sang "Future Stream," the song that started the show, and "Super Noisy Nova," which made the world know that they are truly a super voice-over unit. Milky Holmes, performing for the first time, will present their first Anisama live performance of just one song, but a truly special one. The stage was filled with rising stars who will carry the future of Anisama for the next 10 years, and one could not help but feel the beginning of the "next Mirai". Lia, Chihiro Yonekura, KOTOKO, and Naomi Tamura made surprise appearances at the same concert. Haruko Momoi sang "21st Century. I think this gravitas brought about by the accumulation and intersection of histories is an attraction that can only be found at Anisama.

In looking back on Anisama 2010, it would be impossible not to mention the unique presence of Girls Dead Monster (GalDemo), which began its run in April 2010 with the anime "Angel Beats! They ended their career with "Girls Dead Monster Last Live -Final Operation" on December 27, 2010, a very short and intense period of time. At the only Anisama that the girls participated in real time, Lia sang "My Soul, Your Beats!", the opening theme song for "Angel Beats! The three sang "Brave Song" together at the end.

This sequence completed the story of "Angel Beats!" and GalDemo's one and only Anisama, and at the same time, it was the beginning of the story of LiSA, an artist of unparalleled stature, at the Anisama. The audience was still not used to her swimming on the stage of Anisama, and many of them did not fully understand the world of LiSA yet, so there was a communication that only a first contact can bring.

Note that although I wrote "only once," GalDemo later made a surprise return on stage at Anisama 2016. Even works that were once closed as content can be revived with a song as a hook. This is also a premium experience unique to Anisama.

One of the collaborations that resulted from the exchange that took place at Anisama was "You & Me" by Yukari Tamura feat. motsu from m.o.v.e. At Anisama 2009, Yukari Tamura was standing next to motsu, but was so nervous that she could hardly speak to him. After that, they deepened their cross-cultural exchange, and at the following Anisama in 2010, they stood on stage together and collaborated with motsu's rap performance. motsu would later appear at Yukari Tamura's Yokohama Arena concert, which was also made possible by Anisama, where top-notch artists gather once a year. This was also made possible by the fact that the Anisama is a place where top artists gather once a year.

The first sight the detectives saw

In the previous year's article, I mentioned ear monitors, but this time I would like to focus on psylliums, penlights, and other light fixtures. Nowadays, it is a common sight to see the audience change the color of their penlights at certain points during a song or a piece of music, depending on the artist. Since the introduction of color-changing lights, the color expression of the audience has evolved dramatically. However, as of 2010, psylliums were mostly of the chemical type that reacted with the liquid inside when folded. Compared to today, color changing required a lot of preparation, craftsmanship, and familiarity.

One thing that cannot be overlooked when considering psylliums in the world of anime songs at that time is the presence of Nana Mizuki. Many people may have learned the joy of using psylliums through the vivid experience of creating a blue world for "ETERNAL BLAZE" and turning on all the ultra-orange lights at once during the song. Since those two colors are prepared for the possibility of "ETERNAL BLAZE" being sung, I think many people waved blue on stage where they were less conscious of colors and shone orange as the tension increased.

If one were to think of this person and this color, I doubt if there will ever be anything that will surpass Yukari Tamura's pink. As for "color changing," "THE iDOLM@STER" has been doing it from a very early stage.

On top of that, one of the highlights of the 2010 Anisama was Milky Homes' first appearance on stage. The girls went on to perform many times before graduating in 2018, becoming an indispensable part of Anisama. However, in fairness to Milky Holmes, who took the stage at Anisama for the first time, they were still nobody at that time. For Mirai Sasaki, the youngest member of the group, it was a big stage appearance only six months after she was chosen to play the role of Hercule Burton in an audition held in February 2010. The anime "Detective Opera Milky Holmes" had just aired, and the girls were all saying, "There is only one right answer, and that's not it! is not! which they performed at Anisama in October 2010. The game "Detective Opera Milky Holmes," whose theme song is "Ameagari no Mirai," which they performed at Anisama, will not be released until December 2010.

The girls were really in a "nice to meet you" state when they performed just one song on stage, and the packed Anisama crowd showed them a sea of pink, yellow, blue, and green lights. They greeted the stage with a welcoming "Welcome to Anisama" light that could have drifted off into distraction, even with the best introduction of character-colored detective suits. Personally, I think one of the great things about Anisama is the warmth of the audience that welcomes all artists without distinction. Even if you are not familiar with the artist, they are interested and respectful and try to make the stage exciting, an environment that does not make you feel like you are away from home.

The excitement that enveloped the audience when Milky Holmes performed at the last Anisama in 2018 was the inevitable result of the history and stories that the girls and Anisama have accumulated. The timing of their appearance at Anisama was also perfect, as they appeared before JAM Project, who performed as the last performer of the night.

But it was the warmth and goodwill of the anisong fans who shaped Anisama from the audience that gave the girls their first beautiful sight on the big stage in 2010. I am so glad that Anisama was the place where so many people met Milky Holmes and Milky Holmes met the world at large.

As a side note, Aozora Tokui, a member of Milky Homes, said during the MC at Anisama 2018 that "Anisama is like one big organism, and various artists connect the baton to each other". This is something that the girls, who have been involved not only with Milky Holmes but also with a variety of other works and have performed on stage at Anisama under various forms, including as a unit and under their own names, have no doubt realized without any falsehoods. General producer Koji Saito, a.k.a. Saito P, said that these words were the inspiration for the theme "Story" of Anisama 2019.

The words that the girls arrived at at the end of their performance at Anisama will be forever engraved in the history of Anisama as its "theme.
