The "Millennium Actress" to be broadcast this time is the second film directed by Satoshi Kon. It won the Grand Prize in the Animation Division of the 5th Japan Media Arts Festival at the same time as Hayao Miyazaki's "Spirited Away. The film also won high acclaim both in Japan and abroad, and was distributed overseas.

The story of the life of the heroine, a legendary actress, is told through live-action images with less deformation than in animation, and the story lightly jumps over the boundary between reality and fiction, transcending time and space.
