Readers' Present! Finally, the last robot of "GENKI EXPLOSION GAMBARGAR" is now available as a plastic model! I made MODEROID "Gekiryuuger"! Part 1 [Editor's Review].

From Good Smile Company's plastic kit series "MODEROID" comes Gekiryuuger, a robot from the anime "Genki Bakudan Ganbaruger!

MODEROID's "Genki Bakudan Ganbarugar" series has been reviewed by Akiba Research Institute for some time, and we have finally reached the last robot, "Gekiryuugar!

GENKI EXPLOSION GUNBALGAR" is an anime that was broadcast on TV from April 1992 to March 1993, and is the second in the "Eldoran Series" that shares the same worldview as the hit "Absolutely Invincible Raijin-O.

In the early part of the story, "Gambargar," a combination of three machines, played the leading role, but from episode 15, the No. 2 robot "Revolgar" appeared. Editor A, who was watching the series in real time, was very excited to see the bountiful addition of a giant robot along with Gambalgar, the main robot that combines with three other robots.

The key point of MODEROID "Gekiryuuger," which has now made its full appearance, is its two-stage transformation into Fighter Mode and Animal Mode. It can also be combined with Gambalgar and Revolgar in a super-miracle to form the Great Gambalgar.

Since the announcement of the commercialization of the product ......, several months have passed. The day has finally arrived!

So, let's take the time to review it in two parts, before and after!

First, check out the customary box!

The box art depicts Gekiryuger in fighter mode as well as animal mode. If you look closely, you can see the face of Great Gambalgar in the back at .......

The back of the box also shows a picture of Gekiryuuger alone and a picture of Great Ganbargar.

Next, let's take a look at the contents of the box!

This kit is quite finely divided into runners, and consists of as many as 29 runners. The Gekiryuger itself is a robot that undergoes quite a complex reconfiguration, deformation, and merging process.

The very detailed division of the kit will allow for color separation.

There are also a number of pre-painted parts.

Great Ganbargar's weapon, the Final Ganbar Sword, is also pre-painted in metal color.

Pre-painted metal parts are provided for the joints that are subjected to heavy loads.

Other accessories include an instruction manual and stickers. Three instruction manuals are provided: one for assembling the figure into animal mode, one for assembling it into fighter mode, and one for assembling it into the Great Ganbargar.

As one would expect from the leader of the "GUNVALGAR" series, the volume of the figure is quite large.

It looks like it will be worth making!

The solidly designed fighter mode

Let's start with the fighter mode!

The fighter mode is just as solid as it appears in the movie.

The stickers have a matte texture and blend in nicely with the kit.

The Gekiryu Cannon can be held on its back, and the Dragon Shot can be held in its hand.

It can also spread its wings.

It is a powerful form that shows off its firepower and mobility in one shot.

Pre-painted parts are used for the face, so simply assemble it straight away to complete the handsome face as shown.

The shoulder parts are not movable due to its structure, but the two arm parts can be moved back and forth to some extent.

The arms can be moved to the side as shown here.

The elbow part can be moved about 90 degrees.

The base of the legs can be pulled out to extend the range of motion.

By pulling out the legs, the legs can be opened back and forth like this.

Posing in fighter mode!

Let's try out the various poses!

Holding a dragon shot, she strikes a pose.

Supporting the rear with the Gekiryu Cannon! A kind of image.

A simultaneous attack!

The toes of the figure have a high level of stability, so even when its legs are spread wide, it will stand its ground.

Transforming into animal mode!

Next, let's try transforming it into animal mode.

Animal Mode transforms into Dragon Mode.

It is quite a bold recombination transformation, but there are almost no extra parts.

The main movable parts are the arms and legs, and the wings open and close. The tail can also be raised and lowered.

It is interesting to see how a small change in posture can change the impression of the figure, whether it is standing upright or leaning forward to give an aggressive impression.

So, that was my review of the MODEROID "Gekiryuuger.

Due to the combination/transformation gimmick, the robot's mobility is a bit more restrained than the other two robots, but the proportions are excellent! It is a cool looking figure that is admired from all angles.

The real power of this kit is demonstrated when it is combined with GUNVALGAR and REVOLGAR in a super miracle combination!

In the second part of this article, we will be reviewing the "Great Ganbargar" in depth.

Please look forward to it!
