Dr. Stone" is a popular work written by Riichiro Inagaki and drawn by Boichi, which won second place in the comics category of the "Next Comic Award 2018. Set in a world where the human race is about to become extinct due to petrification, this adventure work depicts Chisora, a science boy with a superhuman brain, who uses his knowledge to build a civilization from scratch.

A group photo of the four main cast members during post recording and their official comments are now available! Let's take a look at what they had to say about the highlights and their enthusiasm for the work.
Comment from Yusuke Kobayashi
(1) What is the appeal of the original "Dr. Stone" and what are you looking forward to in the anime?
The world of the work is a fantasy, but the appeal of the original work is that the method of confronting the world is not fantastic, but solid. I also found it interesting to see how they create things from scratch and how the quality of what they create keeps getting better and better.
As for the animation, when I first saw the key visual, I was overwhelmed by the depiction of the grandeur of nature. I am personally looking forward to seeing what the world will be like 3700 years from now, as well as the scientific elements.
2) Please tell us about your character's position and appeal.
The main character has an atmosphere that is far removed from conventional Jump works.
Chisora's physical strength is below that of a human being, but he is an outstandingly intelligent character.
However, he himself does not believe that he can do everything on his own. He relies on Taiki and his friends in part, and his charm lies in the fact that he firmly shows the way for everyone to work together to build it up together.
3)What were some of the most impressive episodes or performances during postrecording?
When we first recorded the audio for the PV, I was impressed that he told me not to make him sound like the main character. I was directed to "lower the excitement" by making him more like a dark hero, rather than a hot, exciting atmosphere.
The end of each episode often ends with Chisora's dialogue, but I thought it was too simple and unexciting ...... (laugh).
(Laughs.) But I think that is what makes it so addictive.
4) If you could bring one modern thing into the stone world, what would it be?
I can't let go of music, so it would be a "record. I'm not a fan of silence, so I would use .......
I think I can hear animals and other sounds during the day, but at night, silence scares me.
So I want to bring something that will make the surroundings lively.
(5) Do you have a message for your fans?
When I read the original story, I wondered about the order in which the petrification process takes place, etc. Scenes that are depicted in the manga in a halting manner will be reproduced in more detail in the animation. I have also heard that the colors of many chemicals are also realistically represented. I hope you will also pay attention to the fact that you can see the mechanism of science in an easy-to-understand way.
Comments from Shin Furukawa
(1) What is the appeal of the original "Dr. Stone" and what are you looking forward to in the anime?
I think the appeal of the original work is the impact of the development.
I have never seen a work in which the main focus is on a character who pursues science, and it is unusual for a story to revolve around scientific items such as "gunpowder" and "nitric acid," so I felt that it was a work with a lot of momentum.
I am not sure how the anime will portray the development using science at the recording stage, but I am looking forward to enjoying it on-air.
(2) Please tell us about your character's position and what attracts you to him.
Taiki is in charge of physical strength, but at the same time, I think he is a character who surprises and learns about science together with the readers, since a lot of scientific knowledge appears in this work and a number of technologies that I did not know about.
He is also a reliable character who puts his body on the line to save the three in a pinch, and as an adolescent boy, he also falls in love with a girl.
(3) What were some of the most memorable episodes during postrecording?
I am in charge of physical strength, so I always try my best to shout as hard as I can in each recording. I play the role of Taiki while feeling it in my body.
He is a pure and straightforward character, so I feel very comfortable playing him, and I feel refreshed after the recording.
(4) If you could bring one modern object into the stone world, what would it be?
I would bring a flashlight with a hand crank charger.
I think it will be useful because I can recharge it with a hand crank when I have time.
It is dangerous on the streets at night. I want to be careful about that (laughs).
(5) Do you have a message for your fans?
I have carefully depicted each episode of the original work, and I hope you will enjoy the world of "Dr. Stone" with its music. I would like everyone who does not yet know this work to know that there is a work with such a world view.
I hope that you will like the work even more in combination with the original work, not to mention the anime.
Comments from Kana Ichinose
1) What is the appeal of the original "Dr. Stone" and what are you looking forward to in the anime?
I have never seen a work based on science before, but I think it is a work that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
There is a clear transition between serious and comical scenes, and I look forward to seeing how the characters will come to life in the animated series.
It is very cool to see the main characters using their brains to pave the way, and there are developments that we have not seen in previous "JUMP" royalty works.
2) Please tell us where your character stands and what attracts you to her.
Yuzure, to me, is like a "true heroine".
She is not just a heroine who is protected, but she is a strong girl who is willing to put herself on the line for her friends in a pinch.
Although she is not a character who fights spectacularly, she is good at detailed work and has important strengths that others cannot match, so I hope you will look forward to her future activities.
3) What were some of your most memorable episodes in postrecording, directing, etc.?
I got the impression that the cast entrusted me with the performance of the characters, which made it very easy for me to perform. I think deeply about how to play the characters.
In the beginning, the number of characters was small and there were very few people in the studio, so I had the feeling that the "Stone World" and the studio were linked, which was very impressive.
4) If you could bring one modern object into the Stone World (Stone World), what would it be?
I definitely don't want to tan. I turn black very quickly. ......
I would bring a lot of "sunscreen."
5) Do you have a message for your fans?
During the postrecording stage, I act based on line drawings, but the characters' expressions are very vivid and look quite similar to the original work.
There are also original elements in the anime, so even those who have seen the original work will be able to see a different story of the characters.
I put my heart and soul into every word I say, so I hope you enjoy the show.
Comments from Yuichi Nakamura
1)What do you like about the original "Dr. Stone" and what are you looking forward to in the anime?
When I read the original work, I felt that the main character, Senku, is a rare work with a twisted character. I think all the characters have strong personalities, such as Senora's partner, Daiki, who is a hot-blooded person and often goes to extremes. On the other hand, Chisora, Taiki, and Yuzuri are surprisingly cohesive, and the three of them seem to form a single person. I am very curious to see how the harmony will change when Tsukasa joins them.
It is too early to say, but it is the kind of work that makes you imagine how the final episode will turn out.
(2) Please tell us where your character stands and what attracts you to him.
The other three characters are acquaintances from before they were petrified, but Tsukasa is the first person I meet in the "Stone World. He is a mysterious character whose true feelings will be revealed little by little. I hope you will look forward to seeing how he will interact with the three of them.
He looks like a bad guy, but he is not a bad guy (laughs), so I hope you will pay attention to him.
(3) What were some of the most impressive episodes or performances during postrecording?
In the "Stone World" section at the beginning of the film, we recorded with a fairly small number of people.
Many people appear in the reminiscence scenes where they reminisce about the past. In a normal production, the cast in the studio plays a variety of roles, so I wondered how the four of us would perform this scene, but to my surprise, we didn't record it (laughs).
(Laughs) I felt that the studio was very kind to us and took us into consideration.
(4) If you could bring one modern object into the stone world, what would it be?
I would bring sneakers. Bare feet are dangerous.
In comics and animations, people who come back to life are naked, so I think it is better to have shoes first.
5) Do you have a message for your fans?
I know that many of you have read the original work, but what kind of voice the characters have, how they speak, and what kind of color they get...... animation will change the medium that was a comic book and create something new.
I would be happy if it is close to the image of the readers, and even if it is not, I would be happy if they could accept that there is this way of expression.
