New PlayStation program "PlayStation Stars" starts today! Earn rewards for game play and missions, and redeem PSN Wallet.
Tokyo, September 29, 2012 - Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) launched a new loyalty program, PlayStation Stars, today in Japan and the rest of Asia.
PlayStation Stars is a loyalty program that rewards users with points and collectibles (digital items) for completing various campaigns and activities. Monthly challenges allow players to earn rewards simply by playing their favorite games.
Other campaigns include earning specific trophies and aiming to be the first in your country or region to win a platinum trophy for a blockbuster title.
One campaign that kicks off is "Listen to it/1994. Participants who start up the correct game based on the hints associated with the song will win a special collectible, so be sure to give it a try.

Participation is free for anyone 18 years old or older with a PlayStation Network account, and PlayStation Plus subscribers will be eligible for additional benefits.

■About Rewards
Points:
Points can be used in the Rewards Catalog and can be redeemed for recharging PSN Wallet balance, limited-edition collectibles, and some items from PlayStation Store.
Collectibles (digital items):
As with the PlayStation product lineup and more, there is a wide variety. Digital items that PlayStation fans can enjoy, such as figures of well-known characters from games and other entertainment, devices, etc. Some of these items are "ultra-rare". Some of these items are "ultra-rare".
Acquired items can be displayed in a digital display case in the PS App and shown to others.
■Gift at the start of service
At the start of service, all participants in the program will receive a "Astronomical Telescope" collectible.
Other gifts include Zaldi, the gondola boatman from "Ape Escape 2," a pocket station, and a Toro and Kuro celebration.
