From "Goranger" to "Ryuso Jar! Super Sentai Legend History," a special exhibition looking back on the history with valuable documents, starts on December 13, 2019!

The exhibition "Super Sentai Legend History," which looks back on the history of the popular tokusatsu program "Super Sentai Series" with valuable materials, will start on December 13, 2019 (Friday) at the exhibition floor of the Broadcasting Library, Yokohama Information & Culture Center.

The "Super Sentai" series is a tokusatsu TV drama series that began in 1975 with "Secret Sentai Goranger" and has been broadcast on the TV Asahi network for over 40 years. Currently, the 43rd series, "Knight Dragon Sentai Ryuso Jar," is being broadcast, and it too is popular with a wide range of viewers, young and old.

The "Super Sentai" series is known for the action of heroes in colorful suits and the powerful battles with giant robots. The series has continued to run on two wheels: the traditional style of daily life that delves into the appeal of the characters and the passionate drama of teamwork to defeat the enemy, and the style of constant innovation that incorporates motifs, characters, and gimmicks that symbolize the times.

This special exhibition is a very spectacular overview of the history of the series.

Upon entering the entrance, visitors are first greeted by "Goranger. Then, the "Secret Sentai Goranger" planning draft will be unveiled for the first time ever. The concept, targets, and other elements that differ from those of the recent "Super Sentai" series can be seen in this valuable A-class document.

Next, panels will introduce the successive "Super Sentai" series after the second "Jacker Dengekitai" series. The content of the works are explained, and the trends, events, and works of the same era are introduced, allowing visitors to look back on the history of the "Super Sentai" series, which has continued to move forward with the times.

Also on display are weapons, items and other props used in the actual filming of the series, as well as robots! You will be impressed to see how they used to fight with these weapons!

The 42nd film "Kaito Sentai Lupinranger vs. Police Sentai Patranger," the first ever to feature two squadrons in its title, is also featured! Miniatures of the machines that appeared in the movie and panels showing famous scenes are on display.

In addition, the scenario scripts (originals) of 43 "Super Sentai" series are all on display, a photo spot with standing statues of successive Reds, a corner showing OP movies of successive works, and a huge chronological table showing the history of the "Super Sentai" series at a glance are also on display, and a "Super Sentai" series' history is also on display. The "Super Sentai Legend Theater" shows 60 carefully selected episodes from the TV series every day, so you can spend hours in the theater and never get bored.

Events such as handshakes and talk shows are also scheduled from the beginning of the year, so keep an eye out for those as well!
