Mazinger Z" 50th Anniversary! A big voting project to decide the "best episode of the TV series" by fan vote has started!

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of "Mazinger Z," a special project, "Fans' Choice: 'Mazinger Z' Best Episode Poll," will begin.

Mazinger Z," a robot animation series created by manga artist Go Nagai, was broadcast from December 1972 to September 1974, and was so popular that it captured the hearts of children throughout Japan, recording an average viewership rating of 22% (with a maximum viewership rating of 30%).
In order to protect the earth from Dr. Hell, who plans to take over the world, the genius scientist Dr. Juzo Kabuto creates a giant super robot that can become either a god or a demon. It was "Mazinger Z" made of a material called "Chogokin Z. Dr. Kabuto was attacked and killed by Baron Ashura, who was the chief advisor to Dr. Hell, but his grandson, Kouji Kabuto, took over his will and decided to fight alongside Mazinger Z.
A pioneering work of giant robot heroes, it established one style of hero animation, including the sequel "Great Mazinger" and "UFO Grendizer," which share the same world view. In addition to the anime, the "Jumbo Mazinger" and the Chogokin series of toys released by Bandai were also big hits.

On December 7, 2022 (Wed.), a low-priced Blu-ray box set of "Mazinger Z" (all three volumes) will be released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the series, but before that, a big voting project has started to determine the "best episode" by fans' votes. The "Magician" is the first episode of the series to be released at a low price.
The "next episode previews" of episodes 2 to 92 can be viewed for a limited time on the "Mazinger Z Blu-ray Special Page" on Toei Video's official website, and fans can vote for their favorite episodes.

The results of the voting will be announced in the special program "Nakano x Suginami x Toshima Anime & Manga Fest 2022 'Mazinger Z 50th Anniversary Special Program Z'" starting at 19:00 on December 3 (Sat), the same date and time as 50 years ago when the TV anime started broadcasting. The program will be hosted by Koji Igarashi and Mariko Honda, who will discuss the history and appeal of "Mazinger Z," and will also feature a special live performance by Ichiro Mizuki, who sang the theme song.

The "Mazinger Z" boom has been rekindled in the 50th anniversary year. We hope that you will participate in the voting project and enjoy the charm of "Mazinger Z" to the fullest.

The "Next Episode Preview" (episodes 2-92) will be posted on Toei Video's official website "Mazinger Z Blu-ray Special Page" for a limited time.
Select your favorite episode from the total of 92 episodes.
Each person can vote up to 3 times (3 episodes).
Among the voters, "Mazinger Z Blu-ray BOX" (all 3 volumes) will be given away to 5 people by lottery, so be sure to check it out.
