As a major project ahead of the 70th anniversary of Godzilla's birth in 2024, the latest Godzilla film will be released on November 3, 2023 (Friday).
The film, which marks the 30th Godzilla film in Japan, will be released on "Godzilla Day" on November 3, 2023.
The film will be directed, written, and VFX directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who professes to be a Godzilla fan himself.
Yamazaki, who has a close relationship with Godzilla, including the appearance of Godzilla at the beginning of "Always: Sunset on Third Street," which he also directed, and his role as visual director for the "Godzilla the Ride" attraction at Seibuen Yuenchi, will direct, write the script, and perform the VFX for the film.
Yamazaki, who won 12 major awards at the 29th Japan Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for "ALWAYS: Sunset on Third Street" (2005) and 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture at the 38th Academy Awards for "Eternal Zero" (2001), will direct his latest Godzilla film.
The film is still shrouded in secrecy, but expectations are high for further details to be announced in the future!

Born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture in 1964. He was strongly influenced by his childhood encounters with "Star Wars" and "Encounter with the Unknown" and decided to pursue a career in special effects. After graduating from Asagaya College of Art and Design, he joined Shirogumi Inc. in 1986. He made his directorial debut in 2000 with "Juvenile," and is a leading figure in the field of visual effects and VFX, making full use of advanced visuals in computer graphics. His "ALWAYS: Sunset on Third Street" (2005), a VFX depiction of a Showa-era town with heartwarming humanity, vitality, and atmosphere, became a hot topic of conversation, winning 12 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director at the 29th Academy Awards. Eternal Zero" (13) and "STAND BY ME Doraemon" (14) won the Best Picture and 8 other categories at the 38th Academy Awards, as well as the Best Animated Feature at the same time.
He is counted as one of Japan's leading film directors.
