Weekend Plastic Model Kit by Taiyuki, a voice actor! 60th MODEROID "Granzort

After 33 years since the anime aired in 1989, the "Magical King Granzort" plastic kit has been revived in the age of 2025! We have been paying attention to it along with the "Majin Hero Den Wataru" series released by Max Factory's PLAMAX, and now we will review Granzort to commemorate its reprinting!

Let me introduce it to you while tying it in with the simultaneously released Demon King's Windsert and Aquabeat!

The package depicts Granzorto grasping Eldikaiser, the "Sword of the God of the Earth".

On the back is an image of the summoned figure and its gimmick. On the back is an image of the summoned figure and an introduction to the gimmick, as well as the three great demon kings.

Both sides have the same design. It says "Magical King Granzort" in Magical language.

The lid is designed to be displayed vertically or horizontally, and the illustrations are also drawn vertically or horizontally.

As usual, it is designed with stores in mind.

Let's take a look at the contents. There is an assembly instruction manual and a sheet of stickers.

The runner is composed of many colors, and some parts are already painted. Just assembling it is enough to create a high quality finished product.

If you assemble it according to the instructions, you can complete the battle mode, but let's have it appear from the face mode, just like in the play.

Magical Shoot!"

The pedestal is made of clear parts and can be assembled for display in face mode as well.

Doma kisa lamoon, shin de dey! Thou granzort!"

Transformation begins! Extend the toes while retracting the pins connected to the back into the heels.

Both legs are lowered to complete the leg section.

The red part of the forehead in face mode lowers and the beard part raises to complete the body transformation.

The shoulder armor is lowered into position, completing the shoulder deformation.

While slightly raising the arm armor of the arm, take out the inner wrist.

The same is done for the right arm.

Pull the head upward and deploy the yellow decorations on the top of the head and ears to complete all deformation!

When I explain the transformations again like this, I am reminded of how simple the transformations are and how greatly they change the figure. Perhaps it is no surprise that the transformation procedure is almost the same as the plastic kits of the time, but I am impressed.

The balance of all parts is perfect. I won't compare the size of the plastic kit (Takara's Plastic Action) at that time, although I won't compare the size in the photo. Therefore, those who have Hell Metal and other items that have not yet been released by MODEROID can enjoy the pleasure of decorating them with this figure.

The neatly arranged posture gives a sense of dependability.

The jewelry on the forehead and the eyes are pre-painted parts. Other parts are perfectly color-coded with molded colors.

The edges of the arm armor are also color-coded by dividing the parts.

Clear blue parts are used for the chest. Shoulder armor and beard parts are also color-coded by parts.

Let's take a look at the range of motion.

The neck is ball-jointed, so it can be moved around!

Shoulders are connected to the body with ball joints. The arms can be rotated to raise the figure's arms directly above the body, and can also be raised horizontally to a much higher level.

Shoulders can also swing back and forth.

The elbows are movable about 90°. There is a roll rotation axis in the middle of the second arm and forearm. Even though the arms are equipped with huge armor, the rotation of the forearms allows for a much wider range of posing.

The waist and torso are also connected with ball joints, allowing the body to be tilted slightly by rotating the waist or lifting the torso slightly.

The front and rear leg openings are flexible as shown.

The left and right legs can be opened enough for powerful posing.

The hip joints have a ball joint connection and can also roll and rotate with the thighs.

The knees are double-jointed with the benefit of deformation and can bend about 180°.

The ankles are ball joint + axis movable and can be moved as shown. I can also extend the toes using the movable parts also used in the deformation.

Action poses!

Early on in the beginning, he did his best in the fighting game.

With The Simple Stand, even a flying kick is nothing to sneeze at.

The legs have a full range of motion, so she can even stand on one knee.

In addition to the fist that holds the weapon, a hand part for using the magic power is also included.

This is a magic power effect part. Combined with her wrists, she can be posed in any of the magical power poses from the movie.

Doma Kisa Ramoon.

Magic power, energy bolt!
The effect is attached to the wrist, so it won't fall down even if you point it downwards.

Magic power, Flame Bomber!

Let's play with it as you like.

Siege Guy Freeze..."

Come on out, Eldikaiser!

By combining the movable shoulder and arm parts, you can also recreate a certain amount of double-handed poses.

Depending on your ingenuity, various action poses can be achieved, so be sure to try it out for yourself.

Eldikaiser also comes with a blade covered in flames!

It's a "one-sided sword! Eldikaiser!"

Bringing in Windsert and Aquabeat to recreate the jacket illustration of the "Mado King Granzort Music Collection! (I had it on cassette tape at the time.)

Plus a little effort!

This time, I thought I could make it look a bit more like a limited edition with "one extra touch," so I painted the red parts metallic red!

It may be a little hard to see, but can you feel the glossy effect?

You may be able to tell by the reflection of the round part of the chest, but I may have made a mistake in choosing the paint this time. ......

If I had to go to the trouble of painting, it would have been more gorgeous if I had applied pearl or metallic paint to the entire figure! Well, sometimes that happens!

Can you see it a little better when I put it side by side with the unassembled one?

Oh, maybe this is the easiest image to understand! The right side is the painted one. You can also see that the gate marks are less noticeable!

Face mode.

The right side is the painted one. From this image, you can see the difference in glossiness.

I will consider a more effective "one-step" when I introduce the super granzote! I would like to say that we are already planning to release a super version of the three great demon kings in October! If you want, even the prototypes of the three Evil King machines have been announced.

There are probably people who were able to collect the Madoushi King but not the Evil King at the time of the anime broadcast, so please take this opportunity to make amends. (I am one of those people.)

The MODEROID Granzort series, from the time you are assembling it to the time it is completed, will somehow make you nostalgic for the days when the anime aired, even though it is the newest kit.

For those "Granzort" fans who learned of the kit's release through this article, I hope you will try your hand at assembling it.

Please consider it!

Let's have some fun magick next time!
