A little robot goes on a great adventure in the apocalypse! Advance Play Review of "Life of Delta," an Adventure with Tacky Mystery Solving
How are you doing, Akiba Research Institute readers? This is Nero Hyakkabe, a writer who buys too many games. Have you ever heard of the term "post-apocalypse"? This term refers to a genre of fiction set in a world after the extinction of mankind and the destruction of civilization. This genre, also called "apocalypse," has an appealing worldview that stimulates the imagination, and "Life of Delta," which we will introduce hereafter, is set in such a post-apocalypse world.
Please note that this is an upcoming title and this article is a review of the demo version, which is different from the full version. It should be read in conjunction with this article! Recommended Articles

Life of Delta" is a sci-fi adventure game set in a vast post-apocalyptic world.
The words "apocalypse" and "sci-fi" may conjure up images of a hardcore, unapproachable game, but this game is unique in that it is sci-fi, yet has a somewhat soft atmosphere. The visuals have a picture-book touch that is at once hardcore and warm, drawing the viewer in from the opening scene.
The main character of this work is Delta, a small service robot. In a world where the human race is extinct and only broken service robots and the humanoid Lizard, born from a long descent from the ashes of death, exist, Delta sets out on a journey to find "Joe," the man who saved her from being discarded.
Joe was actually taken away by soldiers to a city called Mega City for some reason. Fully animated movies inserted throughout the game add depth to this mysterious story.
This is a " point and click" type adventure game. The game is a relatively orthodox adventure game in which the player clicks on suspicious-looking places to investigate, obtain items, and solve gimmicks in order to move forward. While the game has an old-fashioned escape game atmosphere, the beautiful graphics, music, and UI design that minimizes on-screen information as much as possible give the impression of a stylish game that does not feel old-fashioned. The animation of Delta walking towards the clicked location is cute and relaxing to watch.
A point-and-click type adventure game may give the impression of a game in which you have to click on every suspicious-looking spot on the screen, but in this game, the cursor changes when you click on a spot that you can examine, so there is no need to waste time clicking, The game is designed to be comfortable.
Another easy-to-play point is that you can check the logs of your next goal and conversations with other characters at any time. Even if you resume play after some time has passed since your last visit, it is nice to be able to check these logs and quickly remember what you were trying to do just before you left.
The game also features a number of puzzles, which is one of the best parts of adventure games. In the demo version I played, I was only able to play the first part of the game, but various riddles, such as finding a key or activating a recharging device, appeared one after another. I enjoyed solving a wide variety of riddles, such as combining items obtained and solving puzzle-like gimmicks through trial and error.
The riddles in this title, which test all kinds of abilities such as inspiration, deductive reasoning, and insight, are all challenging and of high quality. I was so surprised at the solution of the riddle of the charging device that I couldn't help but straighten up my posture. However, even though it is difficult, it is not a mean-spirited and unreasonable difficulty, but an exquisite difficulty level that can be solved by careful observation and thought. The fact that this quality of puzzle-solving will continue to be available in the future makes me look forward to the full version.
Life of Delta" has a lot to offer: a worldview set in an apocalypse, unique characters, beautiful graphics and music, and high-quality puzzle solving. Although the demo version I played this time was only the beginning of the game, there were many elements that made me want to play further, such as the future adventures of the main character Delta, the unknown worldview that will gradually be revealed, and what kind of riddles are waiting for us to solve. If you like adventure and puzzles, of course you will love this game.
If you like adventures and puzzles, and if the world and graphics appeal to you, we hope you will add this game to your Steam wish list and eagerly await its release.
