Prior to the release of "Detective Conan: The Shadow of Black Iron", a special edition of "The Story of Sadness Haibara" will be released in theaters.

Set in the waters around Hachijojima Island, Tokyo, the film version of "Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine" will be released on a nationwide roadshow on April 14, 2023. A special edition of the TV series about Sadness Haibara, a key character in the film, will be released in theaters on January 6, 2023 (Friday).

The title is "Detective Conan: The Story of Ai Haibara - Kurogane no Mystery Train," which focuses on the popular TV series episode "Jet-Black Express (Mystery Train)" and reconstructs important scenes from the other episodes to explore her past.

In the past, as a scientist Shiho Miyano <codename Sherry>, she was developing a poison medicine for a black-ops organization. In order to betray and escape from the organization, she drinks the poison and becomes an infant, and meets Conan, who has the same fate as her.

While the reunion with his nemesis Jin and the bus hijacking incident in which Shuichi Akai made his first appearance are also featured, the popular episode "Jet-Black Express (Mystery Train)," in which Toru Amuro reveals his true identity as Bourbon, is the main episode of this film.

A murder case takes place on the Mystery Train, with a guessing quiz given during the ride. Haibara is hunted down by a black-skinned organization, and he has a direct confrontation with Vermouth and Bourbon, and the psychological warfare ends in a shocking conclusion.
