Ichiro Mizuki, the king of anime songs, passed away from lung cancer.

On December 12, 2022, it was announced on his official website that singer Ichiro Mizuki passed away from lung cancer at 6:50 pm on December 6, 2022.

According to the announcement on his official website, "Lung cancer was discovered at the end of April last year, and he had been in and out of the hospital repeatedly for radiotherapy and drug therapy, and had been fighting the disease for over a year and seven months.
Born on January 7, 1948, he was 74 years old.

He had a severe disease with brain metastasis, lymph node metastasis, and meningeal dissemination, but he had continued to work hard for treatment and rehabilitation with the goal of being "active throughout his life.

According to the family's wishes, the wake and funeral were held only for the next of kin. A farewell party will be held at a later date after consulting with the bereaved family.

Ichiro Mizuki made his debut as a singer in 1968 and sang the theme song for "Genshi Shonen Ryu" in 1971, as well as many anime songs such as "Mazinger Z" and "Captain Harlock" and special effects songs such as "Kamen Rider" series, and has sung over 1200 songs. He was loved by men and women of all ages with such nicknames as "Aniki" and "The King of Anisong.
