When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy days. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!
The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.
So, the "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Taiyuki, Voice Actor! Let's start the 62nd issue!
Weekend Plastic Modeling by voice actor Yasuyuki Tai! Part 2 of 62 MODEROID "God Gravion
In the second part, we will review the charm of God Gravion in its combined form!
The standing figure is perfect! It is quite rare to see a combined robot that is so well put together without using any kind of shape-oriented parts. Even more than the GRANCAIZER, this figure has a very well-defined style.
The back is surprisingly simple, with only the G Shadow's thrusters added. However, the enlarged legs and shoulders are effective, giving it a super robot-like silhouette.
The face portion remains the same as the Grand Kaiser, but the red additional parts have changed the impression.
The chest decoration is truly super-robot-like. At first glance, the plate-like parts spreading out to the left and right may seem to hinder mobility, but this kit has taken measures to prevent this.
I did not expect that the arms of Grankaiser could be stored without replacement. Thanks to this, the color scheme of the inside of the shoulder armor is also close to the setting.
The waist is the same as the Grankaiser, but the larger arms and legs give the figure a more toned appearance.
The ditan yellow blade parts on the legs are a must for Super Robot and Okawara Mecha fans of yesteryear. This is another area that may hinder mobility. ......? See below for more details.
The inside of the thrusters are also finely detailed.
The leg parts of the GranDiva covered GranKaiser are also integrated as GodGravion's leg parts without any sense of discomfort.
The head has more decorations and the upper body has a combined G-Shadow, so one would think that the range of motion would be limited, but it is almost the same as the Grand Kaiser.
The shoulders can be rotated without any problem, and the arms can be moved straight up.
The chest plate is also movable, so it does not interfere with the movement.
However, due to the combination mechanism, the arms can only be lifted up to about 45 degrees in the horizontal direction.
The arms can be rotated in the combined section.
The wrists are connected by ball joints, so you can move them around.
The movable abdomen and waist are also inherited from the Grand Kaiser.
The knee joints also have the same range of motion as the Grand Kaiser. Despite the fact that such a large mechanical structure has been combined!
The ankles can swing back and forth and are connected with ball joints, allowing for a large amount of movement. The blade-like parts on the shins can also be raised up, so the ground contact is quite good.
In order to reproduce the combined form as it is set up, the movement of the GRANCAIZER will be used in its God-Gravion form as it is. Therefore, the mobility of the God-Gravion form is a little limited due to the priority given to the combining gimmick.
Therefore, in order to enhance the mobility of the God Gravion, an "Action Body" is also included!
The image on the right shows God-Gravion combined with the "Action Body. Can you see the difference?
The only difference in appearance when the "Action Body" is exchanged with the "Action Body" is that the shoulder armor is non-deforming and larger.
This allows for enhanced mobility, especially around the shoulders, including the shoulder armor. The arms can now be lifted horizontally by approximately 90°.
The shoulder joints of the "action torso" are ball-jointed, so they can swing up and down and forward and backward.
The "action torso" has ball-jointed shoulder joints, so it can swing up and down, as well as back and forth.
Now let's pose Godgravion with the action torso again.
First, let's switch both wrists to flat hands for a fighting stance!
Thanks to the swing of the shoulders, the high ground contact of the legs, and the flexibility of the hip joints, which are the same as those of Gran Kaiser, it is just like an action fin figure, and the poses are interestingly well defined.
The "Graviton Buster" is fired with both arms crossed in the film!
Touka "Graviton Pressure"
Ryuna "Paanch!"
The "Graviton Tornado Punch", which is fired with the wrists retracted and the drill out, is also reproduced!
Touka "Graviton Arc!"
Naturally, a Graviton rifle is also included. And it comes with two rifles!
The color scheme is reproduced here by dividing the parts and using stickers. The barrel of the rifle is attractive, with a smart design, but also powerful.
Mizuki: "I won't let you get away! Graviton rifle!"
A pose after shooting down a target!
Of course, the left and right weapon handles are also aligned, so two guns are possible.
While rushing forward, God Gravion concentrates his attack on the target in front of him!
Also included is the Graviton Sword! Since it is deployed from the chest part of God Gravion, the tsuba (brim) is also made of clear parts according to the chest design.
Douga: "Graviton Sword!
Blaze Arup!
The yellow parts of the chest should be removed.
Ergo.
Aend!"
The movement is excellent, so I was able to do a standing knee!
It would be a good picture if you just let her stand up with Graviton Sword.
Each part has a clear shape, and the coloring is well done by dividing the parts, and there are also pre-painted parts. In addition, it takes a little time to assemble.
Furthermore, since the number of photos in this article is already approaching 100, I decided to really make a small modification.
At first glance, it may seem that there are no changes, but I have made some partial smilies.
The first thing I recommend is the "face". It is a wonderfully sculpted figure, so adding some smudging to clarify its contours will make it look much tighter. Some of the brightly colored areas, such as the round molding on the yellow parts of the shoulder armor and the plate on the chest, have been selected and smeared.
The waist, the bumps on the arms, the details on the front skirt, and the lines on the thighs are also smeared.
Since details are often lost on light-colored parts, it is easy to make up for them by smudging the details in this way.
This time, I used Pigma's black 0.03mm to draw the lines. Even if the lines stick out, they can be easily erased with a light rubbing if they are still in the molding color. If you are able to smear the lines well, it is a good idea to spray a topcoat or something similar to protect them.
After reviewing this product, I found a few things that I would like to see in future series.
The super heavy sword that was not included this time will definitely be included in future items, though,
Sword with purse
Wrist with both hands crossed.
Chest & wrists for Gravity Crescent
A pedestal for the Grand Diva.
Parts to reproduce the combination of G-Driller and G-Shadow.
I would be happy if these parts are included in any of the kits to be released in the future, or if they are released as a weapon set.
At any rate, having seen the Gravion, I am convinced that the "Sol Sigma Gravion" and "God Sigma Gravion," which are scheduled to continue to be released over the next year, will be very well done.
There may be more than a few of you who know of the "Super Robot Wars" series but have not yet seen the original anime. For those of you who have not yet seen the original anime, it might be a good idea to do some preliminary study (and review!) while you are at it. I am a pilot of G Shadow.
By the way, I'm a fan of G Shadow's pilot, Ryiru.
I will continue to follow the story up to "The Most Violent God," so please look forward to more installments in the series.
See you soon!
