Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Yasuyuki Tai! Vol. 61 MODEROID "God Gravion" Part 1

Hey there, Grand Knights! Sorry for the wait!

God-Gravion, the main robot from the TV anime "Choujujin Gravion," which celebrated its 20th anniversary, has been released as a transformable and combinable plastic kit from the Good Smile Company MODEROID series!

At the time, I never dreamed that I would be able to own a transformable and combinable plastic kit of this combined robot created by the powerful team of Kunio Okawara for the mechanical design and Masami Ohari for the director.

It was announced when the kit was first released that it would be designed based on the Final Goseishin (the most powerful combined robot). The Gravion series is scheduled to be released one after another in the future. First of all, we would like to introduce the first release, God Gravion.

Who else could have drawn the package illustration? The powerful God-Gravion by Masami Ohari is posed in a decisive pose!

On the back is a description of the kit's gimmick, as well as the figure of "Ultimate Gravion," skipping over the figure of Sol Gravion!

Illustrations are placed on the lid and bottom so that they can be displayed in stores in their respective portrait and landscape orientations.

The sides show outer space, but when the package is fully unfolded, it becomes one giant illustration together with the front illustration.

The runners are color-coded in detail, and there are also pre-painted and clear parts. It is quite a large volume. Some color schemes can be reproduced with stickers.

In total, there are 5 machines to assemble in this kit. I think I am relatively fast at assembling plastic kits, but even so, it took me 5.5 hours to assemble them without taking a break. You may want to take a break after each machine is completed and enjoy assembling it slowly.

First, let us introduce the GRAND-KAIZER and each GRANDIVA.

Grand Kaiser.

As you can see, the color coding is well done thanks to the parts division, stickers, and painted parts. The well-defined style of the figure has been well sculpted into the figure.

The backpack also has thruster details.

The design is so well executed that it is hard to believe that it is the core mecha of a combined robot. I think it looks cool enough just standing up.

Clear parts are used for the forehead and chest. The face, chest, and shoulder armor have additional pre-painted parts, so the color scheme can be reproduced to this extent just by assembling it. And it has a nice face. The face should be smeared to show the details.

The subtle chamfering of the front skirt and thighs also shows the attention to detail. The designer must have gone through a lot of trouble. The joints on the shins also look detailed.

Even the yellow circles on the sides of the legs are molded color. The parts division is very ingenious.

Despite its relatively small size, there is a good amount of information on the back.

The combination of the curved surface of the thighs and the straight lines from the shins down is a personal favorite.

Next is the G-Driller.
The cockpit is a clear part with details. The drills are pre-painted parts, but I am glad that the gate marks come in a place that is hard to see after assembly.

Red parts are color coded by stickers.

Cover parts for the G-driller are attached to the top of the white block at the rear of the vehicle.

The crawler tracks are also well sculpted. They are well sculpted.

G Shadow.

It looks like a stealth fighter, but in the early part of the movie, it was a machine that covered other members while disappearing, and it was kept secret who was on board.

Clear parts are used for the cockpit. The red lines and the design of the main wings have stickers applied to reproduce the color scheme. The back side of the main wings are also detailed.

The exterior parts of God Gravion's head are attached at the rear of the fuselage.

G Striker in charge of the left leg of God Gravion.

Even though the mechanism is in charge of a voluminous part of the leg, the sharp design of each part gives it a sense of speed.

The canopy is made of clear parts. The main wings are partially pre-painted parts.

Even the intakes, guns, and sides of the fuselage are color-coded.

The nozzles on the back of the God Gravion's legs are directly attached to the main nozzles, giving it a powerful and dynamic back view.

This is the best part of the combined mechanism!

This is the G Attacker in charge of the right leg.

To distinguish it from the G Striker in appearance, check the shape of the nose. Other than that, it has the exact same shape as the G Striker.

From the back, it is even more difficult to tell them apart.

Gran Kaiser and Gran Diva together.

G Striker and G Attacker do not have "The Simple Stand" connecting joints, so a "C" type pinching arm is used.

Let's take a look at the range of motion of Grand Kaiser.

The head is connected with a ball joint, so as you can see, you can move it around. It also makes posing easier.

The shoulders can be rotated and brought straight up.

Horizontally, the shoulder armor is so huge that the arms are stuck in it, but it can be raised about 90 degrees.

Roll rotation with the second arm. Elbows can be bent 90 degrees. The wrists can be rotated by connecting the axes, and can also be snapped slightly by taking advantage of the deformable movement.

Can be lightly tilted forward with the abdomen.

The abdomen can also be tilted to the left or right.

The connection between the waist and upper body allows for rotation up to this level.

Hip joint is axial connection. Leg opening is excellent both left and right, front and back.

Roll rotation is possible at the base of the thighs.

Although the legs give the impression of being stubby, the knees can be bent surprisingly deeply.

Ankles swing back and forth widely. Also, by changing the swing direction of the spherical joint parts, it is possible to swing to the left or right, making it possible to pose the figure with considerably more ground contact.

The toes are movable for combining, and can also be lifted up.

So, Grand Kaiser is an excellent movable figure. Let's try posing him in various ways. First, let's try a powerful fighting pose. You can see that the legs are very movable.

Using the simple stand, Grankaiser charges with thrusters at full throttle.

A flat hand is also included, allowing for cool poses like this.

Thanks to the excellent articulation of the torso and legs, you can enjoy a variety of bold actions.

In the movie, the Grand Diva and Gran Kaiser were often seen in coordinated attacks.

The kit also comes with the Gran Magnum. Combined with the weapon handle, the Grand Kaiser can be equipped with it.

Since Gran Kaiser had many quick actions, the gun action with the handgun is also a good choice.

The Grand Kaiser alone is enough to play with, but the real fun begins here!

From here on, we will be performing "GOD GRAVION! God Gravion (Song: JAM Project Feat. Masaaki Endo).

Sandman: "Goshin, all you Grand Knights, join forces!"

Douga "Ergo form!

Goh!

Gyuin!

Hwah!

Pi! Pi! Pi!

Eina "Hawa!"

Split the G-driller into left and right.

The combining joints on the left driller are retracted.

Touka "Chou-juugojin!"

Replace the wrists on the GRANDKAIZER into fists, lift the arms to their true sides, roll and rotate, and open the yellow covers on the forearms.

Stow the wrists, close the cover, and push the upper arm into the body.

Expand the chest of the Grand Kaiser to the left and right, and also slide some of the shoulder armor to make it larger.

Attach the G-Driller to the black joints on the forearms of the Grand Kaiser. ......

Combined!

G Striker and G Attacker share the same transformation mechanism. The nose is flipped up, the main wings are folded, and the cover on the bottom of the fuselage is opened, ready for merging.

The G-Striker and G-Attacker are combined so that they are covered by the legs of the GRANKEIZER, and the cover is closed.

While unfolding the main body of the G Shadow, remove the joint connecting it to the God Gravion head and the head parts.

Duck the head over the top of the GRANDKAIZER (the instructions instruct you to remove the head), and then combine.

Remove some of the head parts of the Gran Kaiser.

Attach the deployed head antenna parts and the head parts removed from the G-Shadow.

Open the bottom of the G-driller vehicle body, remove the drill blocks while sliding them down, flip it over and reattach the wrists outward, and close the cover.

Transform the left arm in the same way.

God Gravion is now complete!

You can enjoy the grueling merging sequence just like in the movie!

In the second part, we will thoroughly review God Gravion!

Stay tuned!
