The latest "Kingdom" movie is scheduled to hit the road on July 28. The film, illustrations by Yasuhisa Hara, and cast comments have been released.

Set in the Spring and Autumn Warring States Period of China, the manga "Kingdom" (Yasuhisa Hara/Shueisha) depicts on a grand scale a young boy, Nobu (Kento Yamazaki), a war orphan with a dream of becoming a great general, and a young king, Yomei (Ryo Yoshizawa), who aims to unify China. The first film won numerous awards in Japan.

Seven scenes from "Kingdom 2: To the Faraway Land" have been released! The three reunite and General Wang Ki, whose aura is unmistakable!

Nobu and Wang Ki are on the same battlefield for the first time - and a "certain person" is also seen in the film!

The third and latest film in the series will be released on July 28, 2023 (Friday). It will be titled "Kingdom: The Fire of Destiny," and will be released two years in a row, which is unusual for a blockbuster of this scale.

The film begins with the sudden invasion of Qin by its neighbor Zhao, which boasts great power in the north, and the "Battle of Mayo," in which Nobu (Kenjin Yamazaki) and Wang Qi (Takao Osawa) stand on the same battlefield for the first time in order to fight off the invasion. The film depicts one of the most moving episodes in the original story, the "Purple Summer Arc," in which the unknown past of the young king, Yomei (Ryo Yoshizawa), is introduced.

As in the previous episodes of the series, Yasuhisa Hara, the author of the original novel, will participate in the scriptwriting, and will take on the theme of "Why are we challenging to unify China?

In the super teaser visual released today, we see the three main characters who have been leading the series since the first film, and who will also play a central role in the new film. Kento Yamazaki plays the role of Nobu, the protagonist who is pursuing the dream he swore to his late friend, and Ryo Yoshizawa plays the role of Yomei, the king of Qin Dynasty, who is challenged to unify China. The role of Wang Qi, who returns to the battlefield as if guided by fate, is played by Osawa Takao. The splendid cast members will continue to play their roles.

The super-teaser video begins with the words, "A promise I made in the past," which evokes a sense of the story, and then moves on to the characters of Qiang Qiang, who have been fighting together since the previous film "Snake Plains," and his fellow soldiers, Karyoten (Kanna Hashimoto), Lu Fuwei (Koichi Sato), and Changping Kun. Koichi, Shoheikun (Tamaki Hiroshi), and even the king of the mountain, Yang Danwa (Nagasawa Masami)!

In addition, there is a back view of a certain character that foreshadows a new cast member. The last contradiction in the film is ......⁉ Watch out for more developments in the future.

Cast and staff comments have also arrived!

Cast Comments
Kento Yamazaki / Playing the role of Shin
When I saw the video attached to the end of "Kingdom 2," I was just as eager as everyone else to see the next installment and had high expectations for it. Shin has become a Hyakuninshogun and is heading to the battlefield with his friends who overcame the Snake Gan Plains in the previous game and new friends. The scale of the battlefield has been increased and the action is more powerful than in the previous work. I met Kingdom, I met Nobu, and I have continued to grow through this work. I believe that this work will live up to the expectations of its predecessors, so please look forward to the battles that will unfold with new friends!

Ryo Yoshizawa as Eisei
I am very honored to be participating in this grand project and to be releasing my third film, "Kingdom: Flames of Fate," this summer.
In addition to the high-level action and the realism of the magnificent battlefield, I believe that this film is a very dramatic story that focuses more on the inside of human beings, where despair and hope are intricately intertwined.
I hope you will enjoy it.

[Takao Osawa as "King Ki"].
I am very happy that after four years, the third "Kingdom" movie, which was born in 2019, will finally be released this summer. Just like Shin, who continues to fight for his dream of becoming a great general, the staff and cast have worked together as one to create this film. Please come to the theaters to see the movie "Kingdom: The Fire of Destiny", which is even hotter, more intense, and this time, sadder to no end!

Staff Comment
The third installment of the "Kingdom" movie and the first movie of the "Kingdom of the Dead" series.
The third "Kingdom" movie, "Kingdom: Flame of Fate" will be released this summer as well! As some fans may have guessed from the last trailer of the previous movie, this movie will depict the "Purple Summer Arc" and the "Battle of Ma-Yang". Both of these episodes had an immeasurable impact on Nobu and Yuzei, and their subsequent paths, and the story will be more epic and dramatic than the previous two films. We hope you will look forward to the day when the world of "Kingdom" will once again unfold on the screen!

Director Shinsuke Sato

Then, news suddenly came that Zhao had invaded with a large army.
Qin was to attack Zhao's huge army with a hodgepodge of soldiers at Banyang, but Ye Zheng appointed Wang Qi (Takao Osawa), who had once been famous throughout China, as general-in-chief. Why did Wang Qi come back to the battlefield?
And what is the fate that awaits them in the fateful land of Mayang? The battle for the dreams of Nobu and his friends begins.
