Winter anime "REVENGER" ED video sung by Maaya Sakamoto and collaboration illustration of "Touken Ranbu ONLINE" are revealed! Original work by Gen Urobuchi of "Mado Magi" and Shochiku

From the TV anime "REVENGER," which will start airing on January 5 (Thu.), a non-credit ED video and a collaboration illustration for "Toukendanbu ONLINE" have been released.

REVENGER" is an original anime by Nitroplus and Shochiku. Gen Urobuchi, the creator of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and other works, is working on the original story of a TV anime for the first time in 10 years. The story depicts the main character, Raizo, who has been betrayed by someone he trusted and has no place to return to, and a hitman, "REVENGER," who takes revenge on those without power, and how they eventually get caught up in a big conspiracy.

The TV anime will start airing on January 5, 2023 (Thursday) on TOKYO MX, Kansai Television and other stations. The non-credit ending video released depicts a beautiful landscape that changes little by little as the main character, Raizo, slowly walks along.

The theme song "un_mute" by Maaya Sakamoto's fresh and gentle voice seems to gently wrap and purify the karma and tragedy that the characters have borne in the film. The final scene of the video features the expressions on the faces of Raizo and the other five Toshikajiya members.

Collaboration illustration for "Touken Ranbu ONLINE
To commemorate the start of the anime's broadcast, the collaboration illustration between "Touken Ranbu ONLINE", a sword training simulation game, and "REVENGER" has been released. The collaboration was made possible by Jiro Suzuki, who is in charge of the original character design for "REVENGER" and is also in charge of character design for the sword fighters in "Sword Dance ONLINE".

The illustration depicts Ezuki Left Character from "Touken Ranbu ONLINE" and Raima Raizo from "REVENGER," both of whom were designed by Jiro Suzuki, exchanging each other's costumes and swords.

Eyesuki Left Character is the previous swordsmith, Left Character's Tachi. He is the eldest of the three unfortunate brothers and takes the form of a monk, but his eyes are icy cold, and he abhors fighting, thinking to heal his grief by "praying".

And "REVENGER" Raizo Ryoma is a master of swordsmanship who cuts down any target with a single sword. Silent and honest, he is the model of a samurai, willing to die for those to whom he has pledged his loyalty. However, because of this, his way of life is clumsy. His purity is taken advantage of, and he loses his way of life as a samurai.

Start of a 100-panel illustration project!
On the official Twitter page, the "100 series of one-panel illustrations" project, also drawn by Jiro Suzuki, has started. The project is a series of 100 illustrations drawn by Jiro Suzuki, who is also an official Twitter user. The first series of illustrations will be posted daily on weekdays.

Today's first illustration is of the main character, Raizo Ryoma. The artist's expression and figure, depicted in simple red, black, and white colors, convey Raizo's strength and straightforwardness.

<Story
Once upon a time, in Nagasaki, which has a different history from ours, .......
Raizo is betrayed by something he trusted, falls into a dastardly trap, and ends up with his father's hand on his forgiven wife.
He is in mortal danger himself, bearing the unforgivable sin, when he is saved by the town's "Toshikajiya" (convenience store), a man who does everything for a living.
In fact, they are actually "revengers," assassins who take revenge on behalf of the powerless.

Yuhan, an elegant maki-e artist, lives by a hidden faith.
Tetsuwa, a former pirate doctor, is adored by the townspeople.
The bisexual boy, Grebe, who combines innocence and cruelty.
Soji, a gambler who lives for the day and loves to drink and gamble.

Raizo is half-heartedly picked up and joins a group of assassins who are all different from each other in one way or another.
Through their life-threatening work, a strange friendship is born between the five men, all of whom come from different backgrounds and have different principles and opinions.

Eventually, they become entangled in a great conspiracy as they pursue the truth behind an incident that occurred in Nagasaki.
