The first place goes to Shinji-kun, not you! The result of "Happy Birthday, Emi Ogata!

The official voting project "Happy Birthday Emi Ogata Commemorative Character Popularity Poll", which was held from June 5 to June 13, 2019 at Akiba Research Institute, has ended and the results are in.

Emi Ogata is a veteran voice actress with a long career. Many people may think of her as Shinji Ikari from "Neon Genesis Evangelion," but if anything, she often voices male or neutral characters. He is also said to have a very masculine personality, and is called "Aniki" in the voice acting world, and is adored by many. In addition to voice acting, he is a multi-talented actor who also performs on stage and sings.

What do Akiba Research Institute users think of Emi Ogata's representative characters? Here are the top 10!

Among the numerous male characters played by Emi Ogata, it was not Shinji Ikari from Eva, but Kurama/Shuichi Minamino from " Yu-Gi-Oh! Although he is not the main character in this work, he is the second most important character after the main character, Yusuke, and appears as a beautiful boy with long hair. He is a cool character who is truly suited to Ogata-san's low voice.

In second place was, again somewhat surprisingly, Clam Berry, a musician in the forest from " Magical Girl Raising Plan. This is a beautiful female character, which is relatively rare among the characters played by Ogata-san (excuse me!). She has a beautiful and beautiful female voice, not the low voice that she plays with male characters. This role showed the breadth of Ms. Ogata's acting range.

Another female character, Sailor Uranus/Tenno Haruka, also ranked third! However, this one is a woman, but a woman in men's clothing. She and Sailor Neptune Michiru Kaiou are treated as a couple, and she gained popularity as a cool aniki character (among the Sailor Senshi), which is very typical of Ogata-san.

So it came as a surprise that Shinji Ikari was not among the top three, but he finally made an appearance in fourth place! Shinji Shinji is the pilot of Evangelion 1, and in the early part of the film, he is portrayed as an introverted and irritable junior high school student. It is still fresh in our minds that Ogata-san's performance brought out the true essence of his teasing, which is hard to believe for a main character in a robot anime. His famous line is "Don't run away, don't run away, don't run away!" Shinji's plaintive cry is still stuck in the back of my ears and I can't get it out.

Makoto Naeki and Nagito Komae, the main characters of " Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope Gamine Gakuen - Future Arc ", came in at No. 5. Like Shinji Ikari (No. 4), Ogata-san's bass voice is impressive as he plays the role of a junior high school boy. He was a heroic character who solves mysteries with his clear mind, not a teasing one like Shinji (laugh).

Next on the list were Yue and Sesshouri Tsukishiro from " Card Captor Sakura " in sixth and seventh place. These two characters are actually the same person, but they too play the role of a beautiful woman dressed in men's clothing. Eagle and Princess Emelode from "Magic Knight Rayearth" were ranked in 8th and 9th place, but even within the same work, the masculine Eagle and the feminine (because she is a princess!) Emelode are very different characters. However, even within the same work, the masculine Eagle and the feminine (because she is a princess!) Emelode are completely different characters. However, Mr. Ogata brilliantly played both of these two characters with completely different directions, making it hard to believe that they are no longer the same person! If you are interested, please take a look.

In addition, the main character of " Yu-Gi-Oh!" , Yugi Muto, is ranked in 10th place. Just by looking at the list so far, we have probably been able to get a sense of the wide range of activities that Emi Ogata has been involved in over the years. Emi Ogata is by no means "just Shinji Ikari.
