Starting in January, the Heisei Gamera trilogy "Gamera: Daikaiju Kessen", "Gamera 2: Legion Attack", and "Gamera 3: Iris Awakening" will be broadcast as "Sunday Anime Gekijo Special Program".

The Heisei Gamera trilogy is a series of films revived in the Heisei era between 1995 and 1999, directed by Shusuke Kaneko and written by Kazunori Ito. The trilogy is an entertainment epic that can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike, and takes the high road of monster movies by realistically examining and visualizing "what would happen if a monster appeared in today's Japan.
Many staff members, including special effects director Shinji Higuchi, Masahiro Maeda, and Toshio Miike, later participated in the film version of "Shin Godzilla," and this film can be considered one of the starting points of today's realistic monster movies.

This time, the 4K digitally restored version released in theaters last year will be broadcast in 2K down-converted.
