Plastic Model Review] Plastic kit "MODEROID "Ashes of the God of Riders" Valimar" from "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Genesis" is now available! The kit can reproduce famous scenes from the game, and the finish is very satisfying!
The cavalry god from the popular RPG series "The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki" has appeared in Good Smile Company's plastic kit series "MODEROID! The first of these kits, "Valimar," the "god of the ashes" that the main character Lin rides, went on sale on January 18, 2023, and the Akiba Research Institute editorial staff immediately assembled it!
The "Kiseki" series combines the fantasy and super technology that is typical of royal road J-RPGs. Among them, the "Sen no Kiseki" series is a familiar drama of boys and girls set in a school. On the other hand, a profound story about the history of a nation unfolds. As the story progresses, "Kishin," or cavalry gods built with ancient super-technology, and "Kikouhei," or armored soldiers, robot weapons, appear one after another, and the series has become very popular because it allows viewers to enjoy the story as if it were an otherworldly robot anime.
The first TV animation series "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Genesis Northern War" will be broadcast and distributed in the winter of 2023, and the "Trails of Genesis" series has been attracting a lot of attention. The "Kiseki" series has been attracting a great deal of attention.
This time, the editors who love the "Kiseki" series have come forward and assembled the kit! and assembled the kit.
Let's start with the package.
Against a blue sky, Valimar is holding a custom-made sword made from Zemuria ore. This is cool!
The sides are quite thick. Valimar's face is printed in a large size.
The back shows Valimar in various poses. It brings back the famous scenes of the game in your mind!
Looking at the runner, we can see that MODEROID's customary pre-painted parts are also present this time. The gold parts of the face, chest, and orbs on the arms and legs are all painted in the colors that you would expect.
The handle and blade of the sword are painted in detail. This kit does not include stickers or decals, and the coloring is mostly reproduced with molded colors. Although the robot has a small number of colors to begin with, the parts are carefully divided to ensure that even the smallest of details are color-coded! Let's take a look at the finished product, which is a condensed version of that "attention to detail.
Come on, Valimar! Valimar!
Oo!
Valimar descended in response to the customary call of "Come on! What do you think? I am thrilled that the Valimar we have seen in the game has been sculpted as it is.
The exquisite balance of the slightly long arms has also been reproduced.
This slightly angled angle is super cool. Incidentally, the parts are entirely made of a metallic plastic material, and the dull luster is a characteristic of the kit. The armor is said to have a texture between ceramic and metal in the setting, and I think the finish is quite close to the image. The edges of the parts are also very sharp, giving the silhouette a massive yet smart impression typical of Valimar. You can also see that the gray parts are also color-coded in two levels of detail.
The side is like this.
The back. The wing binders are also sharply sculpted. Next, let's check out the details.
The face is very handsome. The gold part on his forehead is a pre-painted part. It is a little hard to see, but his eyes are also painted in metallic green. The orb on his chest is also a painted part.
The waist part can be rolled and rotated, so posing with a twist is no problem.
The orbs are located deep in the arms and legs. This is also a pre-painted part, which is an interesting approach to modeling, perhaps due to the fact that it appears in a 3D video game, which is a bit different from anime-style robots.
The wing binders on the back can be deployed left and right, and can also be angled. It can be folded when fighting on the ground and deployed when flying, depending on the situation.
The arms can be rolled and rotated at the second arm and shoulder parts.
This is how the shoulder swings laterally.
Elbow bending is about 90°. Interestingly, the structure of the arm bending range is extended by the movable parts that hang on the elbow joint on the inside of the forearm.
The legs can kick up nearly 90 degrees. By adjusting the balance, the figure can even stand on one leg. The backs of the legs are also well sculpted.
The legs can be rolled and rotated at the crotch and thighs.
The long part between the legs can be folded inward. The fact that this part is movable means that ......
This means that the model can stand on its knees like this. I have the impression that she often kneels when parking the plane, so it is great to be able to recreate this pose.
The head is ball-jointed and can be rotated 360°, with chin pulled back or chin up.
This is a large sword made of Zemuria ore, which appeared in the game from "II". The coloring is perfect.
The sword is as long as the figure's body, so it looks very powerful.
Hand parts include a clenched fist, an open hand, and a weapon handle. The left hand also comes with a hand to hold the weapon.
Let's try out the various poses!
Let's start with this pose!
"Breaking Fist!"
Valimar often fought with his hands in the air. Surprisingly, there were many opportunities to see him in this pose, so many people may think of Valimar in this pose! I think there are many people who would say "Valimar is like this!
This is what it looks like from the side. The movable limbs are excellent, allowing for a lot of freedom in posing.
Holding a sword and readying it!
Tenshoken!"
This is also a posture often seen in battle scenes and event scenes.
The "Sunlight Sword!"
The sword can be held in both hands without any difficulty. The sword is so large that it is difficult to find space for it!
He is a handsome man no matter how you look at him!
Then he takes a big swing with both hands! "Burning...!" and the dragon-flame strike pose.
This is how he looks from the side.
There is a 3mm hole in the lower part of the crotch joint, so a display stand can be attached. It is also possible to reproduce the flying state.
MODEROID "Valimar" has been sculpted exactly as we have imagined, but as you can see, when the figure is assembled straight, the patterns on the entire body are not color-coded. Please do your best here and try painting it by your own hands. It will give you more information about the robot, and will definitely make it even cooler.
Incidentally, Valimar evolved and changed its appearance several times during the play. There are many more variations of Valimar, such as the version in which Lin rides after his fall into darkness, and the final form that goes through battles with other gods of horsemanship.
At the recent "MechaSmile Impact 2023," the second kit of the "Kishin" was announced, the "Ordine," which is ridden by Crow Armbrust, a.k.a. Crow senior, and the product development of the "Kiseki" series should continue in the future...! I am sure that the product development of the "Locus" series will continue in the future...!
Someday, when all of the "Kishin" and "Kikimon" are made into kits, I would like to recreate the "Gigantic Götterdämmerung" at home.
