Four years after the previous film, "Toukendanbu: Succession," which was a box-office hit with 950 million yen, "Toukendanbu: Reimei" will open in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 31, 2012.

The trailer shows the year 2205, the year 995 when Akira Emoto's character Michinaga Fujiwara lived, and the year 2012, the present day, and begins with a shocking cut to a scramble crossing in Shibuya where a retrograde army invades.

How did they get to this time period? and "I didn't know they were so brazen..." The swordsmiths cannot hide their confusion at the appearance of the retrograde forces everywhere. And then there are Mikazuki Munekika and Yamambagiri Kunihiro, who are crossing swords with each other. Then, Munechika Mikazuki and Kunihiro Yamambagiri cross swords with each other, and Nagayoshi Yamambagiri joins them in a three-way battle.

The cast members of the "temporary masters" who fight alongside the swordsmen who have landed in Tokyo in the year 2012 have been announced. The role of Kotone, a high school student who helps him in his activities in the present day and becomes his "temporary master," will be played by Shiori Akita, who is an exclusive model for "Seventeen" and has garnered attention for her performance in "3Gumi A-Komagata Kachi wa H hostage desu" (From Now On, Everyone Is a Hostage) and other films.

Also selected to play the role of the "temporary lord" is Miki Yanagi, who made her debut as an actress in "Zoological Squadron Jyuwo-Jar" and has been expanding her field of activities by appearing in high-profile productions such as the live-action "Bet Kegurui-" series and the NHK evening drama "Anata no Butsu wa Koko ni" (Your Buts Are Here).

Next up was Tsubasa Tobinaga of the comedy duo Rubber Girl, and Masami Horiuchi, who had a great response to her role as Saniwa in the previous film, as well as a cast full of unique actors.

In addition, actor Sakizuki Nakayama, who made his first appearance in a drama series in 2018 with "Chugakusei Nikki" and quickly made his presence known in "Masked Rider Zero One," played the role of Shakamadoji, who was killed by Minamoto no Yorimitsu at Mount Oe and who places a curse on Yamambagiri Kunihiro due to his resentment.

The film's music will be provided by the theme song "Destiny," newly written by BLUE ENCOUNT. Shunichi Tanabe, who is in charge of vocals and guitar, commented that he was inspired by the passionate lives of the sword fighters to create this song.

The first video we received was a provisional, unedited version of the film. Therefore, there was almost no music in the film. All that existed was the powerful dialogue between the characters and the sound of swords clashing against each other. I fell in love with this work at this point.

This is the only song I can sing for the theme song of the movie. This was my only request for the theme song of the movie.
However, what came out was "Destiny," a song with a beautiful, strong, fragile, and magnificent view of the world that far exceeded my request.

The year 995 A.D. Kyoto. Minamoto no Yorimitsu and his men are ordered by secret talks between Fujiwara no Michinaga and Abe no Seimei to defeat the demon Shuten Doji, who resides in Mount Oe, but their path is blocked by an enemy whose appearance they have never seen before. The enemy is a "retrograde army" unleashed by "revisionist historians" who plan to alter history. The "swordsmen" fighting to protect history, including Mikazuki Munechika, save the day. Tokyo, 2012. Kotone is on her way home from school when she hears an unfamiliar sound. As if drawn toward it, she sees a sword fighting an ominous shadow. Kotone is perplexed, but a mysterious voice leads her to speak its name. Mikazuki Munechika.
Meanwhile, in cities across Japan, citizens are suddenly losing consciousness in numerous incidents. In order to solve this mysterious situation, a swordsman, Nagayoshi Yamambagiri, sent by the government of the time, appears at the National Security Bureau, Cabinet Secretariat. He announces the start of a "special mission" to secure Yamambagiri Kunihiro, who is suspected of being involved in the situation. In response to the request, swordsmiths from each Honmaru gather one after another.
