MAPPA adapts "JUMP+"'s moving story into an anime! Spring Anime "Jigokuraku" New Characters and 4 Cast Members, Movie with Voices Revealed!

Four new characters and cast comments have been announced for the TV anime "Jigokuraku," which will begin airing in April 2023.

Based on the popular manga series by Yuji Kaku, which was serialized in "Shonen Jump+" (13 volumes), "Jigokuraku" is an inspirational manga. Sentenced to death, the most powerful Shinobi, Gebaimaru, and other "sinners" fight together with the "executioner of beheadings" who watches over them, in order to return alive from an island infested with unknown creatures. MAPPA is in charge of animation production.

TV anime "Jigokuraku" will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliate and others from April 2023, and distributed on Prime Video, NETFLIX, and Hikari TV.

Following the announcement of Chiaki Kobayashi and Yumiri Hanamori, new cast members, their comments, and character visuals have been revealed.

＜The "Executioner" Yamada Asaemon Shien will be played by Kobayashi Chikahiro, his apprentice Yamada Asaemon Noritza by Kobayashi Yusuke, Yamashita Taiki by Yamada Asaemon Senta, and the "Guilty" Nurugai by Koichi Makoto. The relationship between the two men, who will fight together on the island they have landed on, will be the focus of attention.

＜Synopsis
The time is the end of the Edo period.
Gebaimaru, the former strongest Shinobi in Ishikakure, who was captured as a loose Ninja and became a mortal criminal, is sent to an island rumored to be a paradise,
He is told that he will be exonerated if he brings back "the elixir of immortality" from an island that is rumored to be the paradise of the Pure Land.
In order to reunite with his beloved wife, Gabaimaru heads for the island where the elixir is said to be located, together with the beheading executioner "Yamada Asaemon Sagiri".
When they land on the island, they are confronted by a group of dead criminals who are also in search of the elixir.
They are also confronted by unknown creatures lurking on the island, artificial and eerie stone statues, and the Immortals who rule the island. ......
On this mysterious island, will Gabaimaru be able to find the elixir and return home alive?
