Overwatch 2" Season 3 Play Report: New map with beautiful aurora borealis and collaboration with "One-Punch Man!

On February 8, 2023, Season 3 of the team-based network game "Overwatch 2" began.

The game has finally entered its third season, and it continues to gain momentum, surpassing 40 million users in December 2022, creating even more buzz. Season 3 of this title is full of fascinating new maps, new concept skins, and big, raging events, and the opening of the season has been a great success. For those of you who have yet to play Season 3 of this title, here are some of the highlights!

Antarctic Peninsula, a new map inspired by the Antarctic Peninsula!

The new map added in Season 3 is "Antarctic Peninsula," a control map inspired by the Antarctic Peninsula. The snow and ice covered land is home to Antarctic landmarks such as a huge icebreaker and an observatory, making it a rare type of map filled with nature among the many urban areas and buildings in this title.

The respawn point is home to a large number of penguins, which makes you feel a bit warm and fuzzy!

This map is also the setting for the short animation "Rise and Shine" from the previous "Overwatch," and since the world of the animation has been faithfully recreated, it will be fun to compare the map and the animation.

Combat on the new map is on a control map. A control map is to acquire an area and expand an area where there are no enemies. In the new map, as in "OASIS" and "BUSAN," the area is expanded by fighting on three different small maps. All of the maps seem to be quite challenging, as they have many small paths and complex configurations, and there are many high points around the bases to be controlled that overlook the field, such as high ground.

Thus, the high ground overlooking the base should not be occupied by the enemy team!

It would be safe to move first to secure the high ground and then aim to control the area around the high ground, rather than forcibly aiming for the points. Also, if you have a better understanding of the map, you can increase your chances of attack by using heroes who can surprise attack, such as "Genji" and "Tracer," and by taking an aggressive stand. On the other hand, heroes such as "Sigma" and "Widowmaker," who have an advantage by keeping their distance from their opponents, will have a hard time moving as expected on this map with its many narrow spaces and obstacles.

Antarctic Peninsula is one of the more complex and challenging maps in Overwatch 2, but with many points of attack and surprise, it can be conquered in a variety of ways. There are many unique tricks and points on the map where you can enjoy the beautiful Antarctic scenery, so please play with it and enjoy the unexpected points of attack and the beautiful Antarctic scenery.

The aurora spreading across the sky is a view that can only be experienced on this map.

The theme of the Battle Pass is "Asian Mythology! A series of items respecting Asian countries are now available!

In Season 2, the theme was "Greek Mythology" and many skins were inspired by the gods of Olympus, but the theme of the Battle Pass for Season 3 is "Asian Mythology.

Since the theme is "Asian Mythology," the skins also respect the mythology of Asian countries. The Battle Pass rewards include a skin of Junkrat from China based on "Red Boy" from "Journey to the West," and a skin of Chirico from Japan based on "Amaterasu," both of which incorporate Asian culture while also showing the character's unique characteristics.

Chirico's skin "Amaterasu" is customizable in terms of hair style and color.

In addition to skins with Asian motifs, there are many other unique skins, such as the surrealistic "Invisible Man" skin for Macri, whose clothes are floating in the air, and the "Black Metal" skin and "Rock On! and other unique skins!

The recent update to the experience system has also made it easier to level up your Battle Pass. Players who were unable to level up as much as they wanted in the previous season will now be able to get the skins they want more easily.

In addition, Battle Pass rewards have been significantly upgraded this season. The rewards given with the free Battle Pass have been increased by 10 tiers, and you can now get 1,500 credits to purchase hero skins and other items, making it a much better value. The Premium Battle Pass gives you more credits and premium-only skins, making it even more affordable.

In addition, most of the event-only skins that appeared in the previous Overwatch game are now permanently available for purchase in Overwatch 2, adding up to 300 new skins to the lineup. The skins are also priced at 1500 credits each, so they can now be purchased with the credits you get with a season's worth of Battle Pass.

Season 3 is also full of events! There is a romance game, the returning "Pachimachi," and "One-Punch Man!

Season 3 will be full of big events, including an unexpected love simulation game, Overwatch's first-ever anime collaboration, and the return of events that were popular in Season 1. The event will be held from February 14 to 28, 2012.

In the new "Ultimate Valentine's Day" event, which will be held from February 14 to 28, players can play "Lovers' Watch," a text-based love simulation game that can be played on a browser.

This is a love cupid, much like "Hanzo," who will support your love life

This is the first official "Overwatch" game of love, in which you will be guided by a love cupid similar to Hanzo, Genji, and Mercy. I tried the game and found that while it contains many gags and meta elements that fans might find amusing, it is also a well-developed romance game, and I found myself getting really into the game and capturing both heroes. Also, players who have never played an "Overwatch" romance game before will be rewarded with items depending on the results of their heroes' conquests, so even if you have never played an "Overwatch" romance game before, you should definitely try it and experience the fun.

Choose the option that you both prefer and bring this romance to a successful conclusion! (And for Cupid's sake!)

Starting February 15, players will also be able to play the limited-time game mode "Love Triangle," as well as support hero support challenges and Hanzo's skin dressed as Cupid from "Lovers' Watch" will be available for purchase. This Valentine's Day, "Overwatch" will give you lots of love.

In addition, a collaboration event with "One-Pan Man," "Overwatch's" first large-scale IP collaboration, will be held from March 8. The event will sell many "One-Pan Man"-themed items, including a Doomfist skin dressed as the main character "Saitama," and will also introduce a challenge to receive a free Soldier 76 skin dressed as the popular character "Unlicensed Rider. The two skins that have already been released show a strong respect for the original story, while at the same time fitting the atmosphere of "Overwatch," and the items that will be available in the future are highly anticipated.

In addition, the "Pachimachi" event, which was popular in the previous "Overwatch" game, is scheduled to return from March 22 to April 4, the last day of the season.

Pachimachi" is a cute event featuring Pachimari, one of the mascot characters that appear throughout the game, including in maps and icons, and all of the additional modes and items will be Pachimari-themed. Seeing our heroes, who are usually engaged in tough battles, dressed up as adorable Pachimari makes us smile. This is an event that I am very much looking forward to, as I can enjoy such a happy moment once again.

Here is the "Pachimachi" trailer from the previous "Overwatch," a surrealistic trailer showing the dreaded road hog getting into the Pachimari.

The first "Overwatch 2" world championship will be held in the near future, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the world has in store! There is no doubt that there will be more excitement in the future!

Season 3 of "Overwatch 2" has a wider range of elements than previous seasons, from the addition of new maps and the introduction of more attractive items to the release of official secondary games and the series' first large-scale IP collaboration.

There are many more fascinating elements added beyond those introduced in this article, so be sure to check out the trailer!

On the e-sports front, the first "Overwatch 2" world championship, the "Overwatch World Cup," will be held, and a representative team from Japan is scheduled to participate. This news is sure to bring a breath of fresh air to the e-sports industry, which has been on the rise in recent years. The special website is already open, and will be updated with the schedule and news as it becomes available, so be sure to check it out if you are interested.

Overwatch 2" is becoming more and more interesting with the addition of new elements each season. The game is constantly adding elements that exceed players' expectations, such as a collaboration with "One-Punch Man," which no one expected, and large-scale events that are too good to be limited to a certain time period, so we can't take our eyes off the game at all. At this point, one can't help but wonder, "What will they come up with next? I am sure that they will continue to show us big surprises that will far exceed our expectations!
