Tokyo, Japan, January 16, 2020 - Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. today announced that it will release the "DUALSHOCK 4 Rear Button Attachment," an attachment for the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller, in limited quantities starting Thursday, January 16, 2020, at a recommended retail price of 2,980 yen (excluding tax).

The "DUALSHOCK 4 Rear Button Attachment" is a special attachment that adds two new buttons to the back of the "DUALSHOCK 4" wireless controller for PS4.

A total of 16 different operations can be assigned to each of the added buttons, including the △○×□ buttons and directional keys (some buttons cannot be set). The button assignments can be customized using only the OLED screen controls, and up to three profiles (button assignments) can be saved.

The product also has a stereo headphone/microphone jack that can be used with a headset that is wired via a 3.5mm mini plug, and is compatible with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR titles, without compromising existing DUALSHOCK 4 features or comfort, The DUALSHOCK 4 is compatible with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR titles.
