CHARACTERS," in which many character songs were sung, was a memorable live performance!

─ ─ First of all, please tell us your impressions of "Saori Hayami Special Live 2019 "CHARACTERS"" held in October. What kind of live performance was it?

Hayami: It was a special live concert, one day each in Osaka and Tokyo, and it was a memorable event as we performed the character songs that we have sung up to now. Most of the solo songs were anime tie-up songs, so the set list was completely different from usual, which was refreshing. There were so many character songs that I wondered how many I had sung, and I chose the songs I would sing with all my heart.

─ The last song of the live performance was "secret", the theme song of "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai". The last song of the live was "secret base~what you gave me~(10 years after Ver.)", the ending theme of "Ano hi mita hana no namae o bokutachi wa mada shiranai. I love the arrangement of this song.

Hayami: I brought this song to the last part of the movie because it has a closing atmosphere in terms of both the tune and the lyrics. I was deeply moved by the lyrics because the "August in 10 years" was getting closer.

The broadcast of "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai." was broadcast in the spring of 2011, and it will be 9 full years next year, right?

Hayami: Time flies, doesn't it? Whenever I see the cast members with whom I have worked together, we often talk about how it will soon be 10 years.

─ What is the oldest song in the "CHARACTERS" set list?

Hayami: It was "Kono Sekai wa Someday," which we sang for the double encore; it was the ending theme for the TV anime "Momoka Gessen" (broadcast in 2007), so I was 15 years old when I sang it.

─ ─ You played the heroine Momoka Kawakabe, and it was your anime debut work, wasn't it? The song "Kono Sekai ga Someday" is under Momoka's name.

Hayami: Yes, it is the first song I recorded in the studio. It has been a while since I sang it this time, and I was really deeply moved. Not only "Kono Sekai Someday" but all of the character songs reminded me of the time when I recorded them, and I could vividly picture the scenes of those days when I sang them.

─ ─ Can we consider the live performance of "CHARACTERS" as the first project of the 5th anniversary year of your debut as an artist?

Hayami: Yes, "CHARACTERS" is a precursor to the 5th anniversary year, and we are planning various developments for the full 5-year anniversary in August 2020.
