The key to success in this title is to make the most of the characteristics of Ceressa and Cheshire, and players are required to use both in different situations, such as using Ceressa's magic to build bridges and Cheshire's claws to break down obstacles. In battle, the combination of the two, with Ceressa using her magic to stop the enemy's movement and Cheshire using hers to attack, allows the two to compete on equal terms with even the most formidable enemies. The story of the two players' growth in this storybook-like world is a refreshing change from the previous titles in the series.

The 3D models of the racehorses have been revamped, and the realistic feel of the game has been greatly enhanced by thoroughly reproducing even the smallest details such as the texture of the skin and fur, and the movement of the muscles. The introduction of "horse personalities," which visualize each horse's personality, preferences, and strengths and weaknesses, and "historical training," which had a major impact on the history of Japanese horse racing, including the Shinzan Iron, make it possible to train horses in more detail.

In addition, the popular elements of the previous title, such as the seven starting year scenarios, the marriage element, and the opening of overseas farms during the historical period, have all been implemented in this title as well.
