I visited "Sunrise World TOKYO" which opened on March 18! In addition to exhibiting valuable materials & goods, there is also a service where you can print your favorite anime T-shirts on the spot!

Sunrise World TOKYO, a limited-time store displaying production materials and related items from Sunrise brand works, opened on March 18, 2023 (Saturday) in the interactive retail facility "Bandai Namco Cross Store Tokyo".

Sunrise World," which has been held in various locations such as Hakata and Yokohama, has finally made its way to Tokyo! The Akiba Research Institute editorial staff immediately visited the site.

Sunrise World Tokyo is a limited-time store that exhibits approximately 400 items carefully selected from over 300 Sunrise brand products, including production materials, many toys, figures, and plastic models. There is a permanent exhibition that can be viewed free of charge, and a "special exhibition" area where valuable materials and items are displayed under different themes each period for a fee. The contents are very worth seeing.

Permanent Exhibition Zone

Come Here! and a standing statue of Daiturn 3 welcomes you!

Related goods of past Sunrise brand works are displayed. Clover's "Mobile Suit Gundam DX Combination Set" has a strong presence!

There are also toys featuring female characters. Mirai-chan from Sunrise's original anime for girls, "Mama is a 4th grader," is at the center of the booth!

Sunrise World" limited items are also on sale.

The centerpiece of the service is a T-shirt printing service that allows customers to choose their favorite design from 100 different designs, including promotional posters for Sunrise-branded works, and have it printed on a T-shirt on the spot. The fee is 5,500 yen (tax included).

Special Exhibition

The first "Special Exhibition" will feature "15 works that supported the early days of SUNRISE. The first "Special Exhibition" features 15 works from the memorable first Sunrise-brand movie "Invincible Superhero Zambot 3" to 1982, displaying valuable materials, celluloid pictures, and goods.

The early days of Sunrise Brand, when Yoshiyuki Tomino's works such as "Invincible Superhero Zambot 3" and "Mobile Suit Gundam" were on display.

In addition to celluloid pictures, promotional posters, and toys released at the time, storyboards, scripts, and other valuable items are also on display!
Personally, I was impressed to see "White Fang: The Story of White Fang" being followed up. Sunrise in its early days was producing works other than robots.

There is a photo spot where visitors can take commemorative photos with characters from the exhibits.

Don't miss the "Special Exhibition" entrance bonus, a reproduction of a colorful paper illustrated by Yuichi Higuchi, the mecha designer for "Ideon: The Legendary God of the Colossus"!

The second "Special Exhibition" is already scheduled to run from May 16 (Tuesday) to June 24 (Saturday), 2023, and will feature deformed robots, including "The Demon Hero: Wataru". Looking forward to it!
