An anime adaptation of the popular Fantasia Bunko series "The Demon King 2099" has been announced.

The first volume of "Demon King 2099" (written by Daigo Shi, illustrated by Creta), "Shinjuku, the City of Electronic Desolation" and the second volume "Akihabara, the City of Cyber Magic" are currently on sale. It was selected "Grand Prize" out of 1,056 entries at the 33rd Fantasia Grand Prize.

The year is 2099--Synthesis calendar year 2099--Shinjuku city. In this futuristic city that has achieved ultimate development, the legendary Demon King Beltor has reigned. The glorious prosperity of the giant city-state and the horrific "darkness" hidden behind ...... it. To rule the new world, the Demon King moves into the future!

The anime adaptation was announced on March 25, 2023, at a stage event at the Aniplex booth in AnimeJapan 2023. The teaser visual, created by the original illustrator, Mr. Creta, depicts the legendary Demon King Beltor standing in the background of the electronic wasteland city of Shinjuku.
