Anime writers' picks for the five most noteworthy summer 2019 anime! [Anime Column

There are more than 40 new anime titles for summer 2019, according to Akiba Research Institute. Here are some of the most noteworthy works. An anime adaptation of a magic mystery depicting a world 10 years after "Fate/Zero. The main character is Weaver Velvet, who fought through the 4th Holy Grail War as a Rider master. He is now Lord Elmeroi II, a lecturer at a magic society, and confronts mysterious incidents with his talented students.
Episode 0 aired without prior notice in a special "Fate" series program on New Year's Eve 2018. Not only did it depict the exploits of Ermeloy II, who boasts overwhelming knowledge despite his second-rate skills in magic, but it also showed a comical side of him that reminds us of when he was a boy. The first half of the TV animation series is an original story, and the second half is the popular "Rail Zeppelin" episode.



How many pounds of dumbbells can you hold?


In this diet comedy, a high school girl, Hibiki Sakura, who loves to eat and has become overweight, visits a training gym to get a beautiful style. She works hard to improve her body with her unique gym mates, including Sadanariin Akemi, the student council president who is a super-lady but has a fetish for muscles.
Animation production is handled by Animation Studio; the 2018 broadcast of "My Maid is Too Annoying! aired in 2018, featured a unique character of a muscular ex-self-defense officer's maid, and the physical beauty of the character is still present in this film as well, with various types of muscles and even Hibiki's slightly disheveled body shape being represented in the PV. The casting of the character, narrated by Tetsuaki Genda, who has dubbed many muscular men in Western films, is also a highlight of the film.

The original work was the grand prize winner of the 29th Fantasia Grand Prize, which drew attention because the main heroine is a mother. VINLAND SAGA


Based on the comic of the same title by Makoto Yukimura, a manga artist who debuted with "Planetes," the story is about the Vikings, pirates who swept the world in the early 11th century, and depicts the life of Torfin, who travels to the fantastic continent of Vinland. The first key visual depicts the elegant stern of a Viking ship, which is full of power. An advance screening was held at the Icelandic Embassy, and it will be an interesting film in terms of learning about Nordic culture!
Produced by WIT STUDIO of "Shinkage no Kyojin" fame, the action scenes in the PV also feature Torfinn's father, Tors, who wields a broad sword with great power, and the dynamic battles are a highlight. The first three episodes will be aired consecutively, and viewers will be able to enjoy the hard-hitting epic all at once.



Dr. Stone


Set in a world where the entire human race has been turned to stone in an instant, this science fiction adventure features the hero, Chisora Ishigami, who uses the power of science to restore civilization. The year 5738 AD, when Chisora awakens from petrification, is in a state of devastation, and the PV depicts an earth overgrown with vegetation. In such a desperate situation, Chisora fully utilizes his knowledge to create soap and other items essential to a civilized society. The catchphrase, "From the Stone Age to modern civilization, we are going up 2 million years of scientific history! The science variety show "Dr. Stone Science Club" is now available on YouTube. The program is surreal and comical, with the scientific robot Mecha Chisora making ice cream and operating a drone.
