Interview with Minami Takayama and Megumi Hayashibara

Last year, there was a great deal of talk about whether or not Sadness Haibara would finally appear as the main character in the film version of "Halloween Bride" in a follow-up movie. It was a big topic of conversation. I am sure you received a lot of feedback, but how did you feel about it?

Hayashibara: I was wondering if it would never happen. ...... (Laughs) As you can see from "Halloween Bride," "The Sunflower on Fire," etc., there are a lot of flashy performances in the theater version. Of course, I knew that at the root of the story, there would be the usual "Detective Conan" style delving into the details of human relationships and friendships, but this time, the action scenes, as well as the story involving Ai, naturally involve the (black-robed) organization. This means that I myself will definitely be spending more energy on the inside than on the outside.... Frankly speaking, I think, "Oh, I want to escape.

Takayama: I thought, "Here we are. Since it was an organization-related case, I thought, "Who will be my collaborator this time? When it comes to the organization, Conan alone cannot compete. Even if I could protect and hide Haibara, that is the limit. The black-skinned organization is much larger than we imagined, and above all, they are adults. First of all, I imagined a lineup to oppose them. I love the actors who are members of the organization and would love to work with them, but when I hear Jin's voice, I get nervous. I thought, "Oh no, what am I going to do? That's what I thought for a year (laughs).

Hayashibara: It was a bad year (laughs).

Takayama: Really (laughs). We got rid of a big case, and then I was like, wow.

Hayashibara: Yeah, every year the cases got bigger and bigger. ......

■What do you think of the relationship between Conan-kun and Haibara from your point of view?
Takayama: They are destined for each other. No one can come between these two. It is definitely a relationship that no one can come in, whether it is Dr. or Ran.

Hayashibara: It is sad, though, including the reason for that.

Takayama: Yes, never anyone else can know.

Hayashibara: So you want to give someone a drug to make them smaller and make it three?

Takayama: Hey, come on...that's better...hurry up and make an antidote (laughs)! But I can't help but think that if we were able to develop an antidote, would she want to go back to the way things were? From my point of view, I sometimes wonder if it would be better for Ai to be happy as she is now. Well, it hasn't been a year yet (in the story), and I don't know if she can grow or develop from now on. ......

Hayashibara: So, do you want to start by seeing if you can make it to the second grade?

Takayama: I'll think about it when I become a second-year student (laughs). I can't think about the future because I don't know what will happen to me yet, but if I can continue to grow up and live happily as a girl named Ai Haibara, I wonder if I won't have to go all the way back to Shiho Miyano and put myself in danger.

Hayashibara: I hope the organization itself will disappear. Edogawa Conan-kun would be in a lot of trouble if he went back to Kudo Shinichi-kun, wouldn't he?

Takayama: That's right. I think about that too, so I wonder if it would be a good idea to simply go back.

Hayashibara: It is not enough just to have medicine. There are deeper issues that need to be resolved. Also, this time, I wondered how far the organization has spread.

Takayama: I didn't think they even had a submarine!

Hayashibara: But if there are a lot of people working undercover for the FBI and so on, they might be manipulating various battles and so on behind the scenes, or it might be a submarine on loan from some other country. There are a lot of mysteries, aren't there?

Takayama: I'm also worried about the crew of the submarine. Do you guys know about this organization and are you here? I want to ask them.

■I'm also worried if they all escaped properly. ......
Takayama: There must be quite a few people to operate the submarine, so I am worried about that. But I think vodka probably helped them escape (laughs). Vodka seems to do a good job with that kind of thing (laughs).

Lastly, please tell us about the highlights of this film and give us a message.
Hayashibara: This film has Conan's activities and Ai, who is kidnapped, as pillars, but I think it is also interesting as a mystery play. There is foreshadowing here and there, so even if you have already seen the film, it would be fun to pick up all the little gimmicks scattered from the beginning and watch it again, so please come to Hachijojima as many times as you like.

Takayama: Thank you for your continued support. This film is one that you can enjoy no matter how many times you see it. You are the witness who sees everything, even to the point where Conan and Haibara do not see it. If you see the film from different perspectives, you will see the story in different ways. You will be able to collect the foreshadowing that is scattered here and there, and you will be nostalgic for the scenes that seem to be homages. Then you can review the TV series again, go to the theater... and enjoy it as deeply as the ocean. Ah, yes! The tension continues, but be careful not to hold your breath! Please come to Hachijojima as many times as you like (laughs).

<Story
Pacific Buoy" is an offshore facility built in the waters around Hachijojima Island, Tokyo, to connect security cameras owned by police forces around the world.
In preparation for full-scale operation, engineers from around the world have gathered at the facility to connect it to the network under the jurisdiction of Europol, a European police organization. There, a test of a certain "new technology" based on a facial recognition system was also underway.
Meanwhile, Conan and the Detective Boys are on a whale-watching trip to Hachijojima at Sonoko's invitation.
Conan then receives a call from Subaru Okiya (Shuichi Akai) informing him that a Europol official has been murdered in Germany by Jin.
Conan, who is concerned about the situation, sneaks onto the security boat in which Hyoue Kuroda and other Metropolitan Police Department officials are on their way to guard the "Pacific Buoy" and infiltrates the facility. While the facility is being steadily prepared for the system's launch, a female engineer is kidnapped by a black-ops organization...! In addition, a USB drive containing certain information in her possession ends up in the hands of the organization....
The sound of a screw roaring eerily in the sea. And a black shadow creeps up on Haibara, who was staying at Hachijojima Island...
