Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) was released in March 2022. It is a realistic driving simulator that incorporates all the elements that fans of the series have come to expect, and is designed to convey its deep culture and appeal even to players with no knowledge of cars or driving.

An update to Gran Turismo 7 for PS5/PS4, including new cars, new races, an extra menu in the cafe, and the addition of the Scapes feature, was released today, April 27, 2023, at 15:00 (Japan time).

The update, which was released today, adds the Jaguar XJ220 '92, Mercedes AMG GT3 '20, Dallara SF23 Super Formula / Toyota '23, and Dallara SF23 Super Formula / Honda '23 as newly included cars.

In addition, "Super Formula" has been added as a new race to World Circuit, as well as an extra menu item in the café. North Yorkshire" and "Miyazaki" have been added to the Scapes feature.

A number of new car models have been introduced!

■"Jaguar XJ220 '92".

The prototype of the supersport car Jaguar displayed at the Birmingham Show in 1988 was unveiled as the XJ220 at the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show. Jaguar contracted the production of the XJ220 to Jaguar Sports, a joint venture with Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), the racing team responsible for the development and race operation of Jaguar's Group C cars.

The prototype's engine was a naturally aspirated V-12, but the XJ220 that appeared in Tokyo had the engine replaced by the 3.5L V-6 turbo from the XJR11, which had been used on the track as a Group C car. The chassis was a composite structure of aluminum honeycomb and carbon Kevlar, just like a racing car. The XJ220 was truly a road-going version of the Group C car in terms of mechanism, even incorporating an under panel on the underside of the body to create ground effects. The interior, on the other hand, was put together into a Jaguar-like luxury car using the finest materials.

The Mercedes AMG GT3 was developed based on the new Mercedes AMG GT sports car unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. a GT3 racing car with FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) homologation certification, it has been active on the world motorsports scene since 2016. It has been active on the motorsports scene around the world since 2016.

The 2020 model, an updated version of the model presented in 2019, focuses on further reducing running costs as a customer racing car. By extending the life of the engine and advancing the protection of the radiator and other components through improvements to the front section, the GT3 responds to the needs of privateers who are concerned about the rising costs of the GT3.

Aerodynamics were also improved by equipping the car with a front splitter, front winglets, and a large rear wing and diffuser. The use of carbon fiber in many parts also reduces weight.

In the spring of 2023, the new "Dallara SF23 Super Formula" will debut in the Super Formula Series, the pinnacle of Japanese formula racing. The SF23 incorporates many new technologies based on the "Super Formula Next 50 (SF Next Go)," a new project of the Japan Race Promotion (JRP), which operates Super Formula, with the aim of "making motorsports more sustainable.

Based on the SF19 body that has been used since 2019, the SF23 uses Bcomp's bio-composite material for its chassis, which reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 75% in terms of raw materials and manufacturing process, while maintaining the same body rigidity and vehicle weight as conventional carbon materials. The racing tires supplied by Yokohama Rubber have also been newly developed with the same focus on sustainability. By utilizing renewable raw materials such as naturally derived compounding agents and recycled materials, approximately 33% of all raw materials are sustainable materials, while achieving the same level of performance as conventional tires. By installing Yokohama Rubber's "carbon-neutral racing tires," the "SUPER FORMULA NEXT 50" will realize a "carbon-neutral machine.

In addition, the aerodynamics of the SF23 has been reviewed in order to improve the entertainment value, another theme of the "SUPER FORMULA NEXT 50". As in the past, engines will be supplied by Toyota and Honda.
